14 posts | 39 read | 14 to read
A woman awoken in air, a soldier forged by fire, a weapon risen from blood. Vhalla Yarl has made it to the warfront in the North. Forged by blood and fire, she has steeled her heart for the final battle of the Solaris Empire's conquest. The choices before Vhalla are no longer servitude or freedom, they are servitude or death. The stakes have never been higher as the Emperor maintains his iron grip on her fate, holding everything Vhalla still has left to lose in the balance. About the Author Elise Kova has always had a passion for storytelling. She wrote her first novella, a high-fantasy, in sixth grade. Over the years she's honed her love of literature with everything from fantasy to romance, science fiction to mystery, and whatever else catches her eye. Elise lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida, where she's currently working on the next installment in her debut YA fantasy series: Air Awakens. She enjoys video games, anime, table-top role playing games, and many other forms of "geekdom." She loves talking with fans on Twitter (@EliseKova) and Facebook (/AuthorEliseKova). Oh my heart 💔 the ending to this one completely shattered my soul. That last sentence.. ugh!

This series is so good. I'm not waiting, I'm going straight into the 4th book.

Possibly my favorite of the series so far. The relationships are complicated, the story is good, and the battles are exciting. Vhalla makes a lot of personal growth and starts to outgrow Aldrik, which makes me excited for the next installment.

The active growth of the characters due to their surroundings and circumstances is absolutely amazing.

Tropey YA fantasy heavily leaning on the broodinemotionally immature romantic interest IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED

Still got one more flight today and I finished early! 😭😭😭 Now nothing to read....
This ending broke my heart. Can someone just please kill the Emperor? And I am not crazy about this potential new romance... definitely curious about book 4 and 5 which I'm putting on my Jan TBR.

AMain Omg- what is that beautiful book sleeve? I've never seen one! 7y
SassenachTheBookWizard @AMain it's from book Beau! It came in the OwlCrate subscription box a few months ago. 7y

That was a roller coaster of emotions I was not expecting. Oh man, that ending. I need book four NOW. Love, danger, action, heart pounding moments. Definitely a great sequel! Only problems were with formatting and typos.
