Loved it! I needed something lighter after the last book I read, and this was perfect.

A coming of age YA novel about Muiriel, who is aging out of the foster care system. I loved the cover of the book, and the storyline was okay. My husband works in foster care and some of the things weren't believable in my opinion.
Just finished listening to What I Carry by Jennifer Longo as my book for the Book Bites task. So, so good, emotional, wonderful characters, educating me further on the ins and outs of teens aging out of foster care in America. I listened on Hoopla but it looks like a physical copy has also been ordered for the stacks. Thanks Sarah for co-hosting the adoption/foster care themed episode and recommending this title. It was superb!
I didn‘t intend to finish this book today
but I just couldn‘t stop! What a charming, touching story about a subject I know very little about: foster care. I loved all of the characters & how their relationships evolved. Definitely some laugh-out-loud & swoon-worthy moments mixed in with the heart. A lovely antidote to all the misery in the world right now ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love. This. Book. Muir is 1 year away from aging out of the foster care system which she has been in her entire life. She‘ll make it if she stays out of trouble & doesn‘t form any attachments—no friends, no family, & just what she can carry in a single suitcase—but friends & family & belonging sometimes have a way of finding those who aren‘t looking for it. Compassionate, hopeful, & inspiring story about the hopes & dreams of kids in foster care.
Another YA book to preview for the library. This one is about a seventeen-year-old girl living in foster care. She‘s one year away from aging out of the system. All she has to do is keep her head down, avoid attachments, and anything else that could get in her way. That‘s the plan...what could go wrong?
On a side note, I love this gorgeous cover!
I am just in love with this cover and the story was just as beautiful! This book gave me all the feels. Growing up in foster care Muir hasn‘t made any connections with anyone it is easier that way. Until she is moved to her last foster house everything changes. She makes friends and starts to care about everything. It breaks my heart that people grow up this way. We need to do better and find a better system for them to grow up in!
Between a really bad headache and trying to get ready for an accreditation what we are getting at the school I teach I haven't had time to post day 7 of #7days7covers
This just fun but retro at the same time. I love the colors they chose.
