Erinehart The UDL strategy that I would use for this novel is 2.1 “Clarify vocabulary and symbols.“ Since this is science fiction, there are some vocabulary words that may be unfamiliar to the students.
An ESOL strategy that would be great for this text is #9 “Teach note-taking strategies: T-lists, time lines etc.“ 4y

DrSpalding This definitely looks like a middle grade novel and could be used as a literature circle or as you noted independent reading. 4y
