Historical fiction about the blacklist and writers during the American red scare.
I loved this book! I didn‘t know much about the “McCarthy Era” and what it entailed, so I learned a lot! Sarah-Jane Stratford is one of my favorite authors, I highly recommend her debut novel “Radio Girls” as well 👍🏻
Despite the unwanted snow flakes falling outside our window.... this is a very nice view ☺️🍷📖❤️❄️
Working from home today 🙌🏻 I‘m enjoying some reading time since instead of a 25 min commute to work, I just have to move to my dining room table 😆
Phoebe was finally making some money for her scripts.
Historical fiction fans, fans of the theater and television productions, and fans of Robin Hood will enjoy RED LETTER DAYS.
Ms. Straton did marvelous research, but The Robin Hood pages that took up a great deal of the book actually were of no interest, and that did make the story drag for me. 3/5

The horror of the blacklist and trials is depicted in a growing tension breathing down the necks of Hannah and Phoebe; Stratford‘s Author‘s Note makes clear the seemingly unbelievable moments were based in historical fact. A satisfying read with elements that are unnervingly relevant today.
Got this #Goodreads #Giveaway #ARC in the mail today. And as much as I'm enjoying The Last Time I Lied.... I really want to start this one.
Every time I read or hear about the BBC I‘m reminded of the book Radio Girls which I enjoyed. So I googled, and this comes out in Feb. looks good.
Thank you Berkley, Penguin Random House, and BookBrowse for this book.
I enjoyed her other book RADIO GIRLS.
LOVE the cover.
