This is a difficult book for me to review. I finished it, I enjoyed parts of it, but I'm thinking maybe true crime just isn't the genre for me. It felt dry and factual, which is good for a true story. It was emotional to read about the murders of so many Osage that were never investigated and their killers never brought to justice.

CaitlinR I‘m not a true crime fan, but I did enjoy this. The historical details were great. 1w
Wildly_Bookish I want to read another true crime before I really judge whether I like true crime or not. Maybe something more modern day. 1w

I enjoyed this book. I'm excited to finally be able to watch the show, and I can't wait to get The Testaments.

I will say, this is the most cliffhangery cliffhanger I've ever read.

This book has me thinking hard tonight. I finished, I enjoyed it... but I'm stuck here thinking about how I didn't finish college because of money, and this girl grew up in a junk yard and made it to Cambridge and Harvard. I guess I should've worked harder.

So I've been reading the 2nd Crazy Rich Asians book, and much like the first one, I don't recognize many things. I've never been to Singapore or Paris or Hong Kong, and I've never owned an Hermés handbag, but I FINALLY found a reference I know! Stowe, Vermont is a place I've actually stayed in! It is also only a short drive from where I attended college.

My boys and I are really loving this series. I have 2 (almost) ten year olds and a five year old, and they all love listening to me read this at bedtime, and my five year old has even been asking for it for his 30 minutes of after school reading.

From an adult's perspective, I enjoyed the second book more than the first, and I'm wondering if it's like HP, where it gets more mature as you progress. We shall see!

This book was so heartbreaking. I don't think I've cried this hard since J. K. Rowling killed Sirius, Dumbledore, Hedwig, Dobby, and Fred.

The ethical and moral dilemma that Matt faces is unthinkable. I believe he did the right thing, and not just because the baby survived. He knew that Elle would have done ANYTHING to save their baby, even experiencing her worst fear.

This is NOT a light read, but one that will stay with me forever.

I really enjoyed this book, although I do have the tendency to see the best. After finishing I saw SO many negative reviews on Goodreads, and I do see how some people would view the relationship between Diana and Matthew as unhealthy. I however, saw it as two people in love, fighting together for that love, instead of Matthew being a controlling douche. There were a million Twilight similarities.

I know that it's not quite October yet... but I found this beauty at Goodwill today ($2.49!) and couldn't pass it up. It's thick and the pages are heavy and glossy. The red designs on the spine are velvety. It is just so fun. I can't wait for December to be able to read this to my 5 year old.

Scored big at Goodwill today! All of the top left picture are on my TBR already. I've read most of the Pretty Little Liars books a while back. And the Middle School & Riordan books are birthday presents for my twins! Super stoked.

So I'm reading this book, and I'm REALLY enjoying it so far. I'm only 117 pages in, but I'm thinking it's great so far. My only complaint is this: WHITE SPACE. The margins are very narrow, the font is tiny, and the line spacing is thin. Which leaves minimal white space. And there are 579 pages.

Does anybody else struggle with books like this? I could understand if it was a mass market sized paperback, but it's one of the larger sized hardcovers.

I just remembered that this bad boy is due back to the library on October 1st! It has 579 pages. Wonder if I can finish it by Tuesday?

I'm not normally one to pick up one book before I've finished another, but as I'm only 37 pages into Legendary, I guess I'll have to make an exception.

Definitely a tear jerker. Following Kate and Tully's story and friendship was fun and sad and entertaining. The mother daughter relationships that are explored felt real and raw. I hear there is a sequel to this book and I'm very curious about it. I thought things wrapped up neatly, if not happily, so I wonder about the angle the sequel takes. Kristin Hannah did it again. The emotional rollercoaster she puts you on is heartfelt and painful.

Firefly Lane is taking me longer than I expected it to. Two of my kids were home sick from school yesterday, but they're feeling better today, so more reading time for me! I'm hoping to finish soon because my local library called and said they have Finale by Stephanie Garber for me. Since it's a newer book it's a 14 day loan and I still need to read Legendary before I can complete the series with Finale.

I loved this book. It felt like reading something familiar yet completely new. It's hard to explain. Maybe it's that Stephanie Garber's style of writing sounds like I would write, or like I was reading something from a friend. The world of Caraval was unlike anything I have experienced and the storyline kept me guessing until the end. I can't wait to continue with the series.

What a great and terrible book. It's hard to look at your life through the eyes of someone else. When Alma talks about how she is simultaneously conspicuous and inconspicuous, I wonder how many times I've unintentionally made someone feel that way.

The loss Alma and Maribel experience is one that hits me close to home. I know the loss of a father and the pain I saw in my mother because of it. It takes immense strength to go on.
