5 posts | 4 read | 5 to read
In these tales from The Dreaming #1-6 and THE Sandman Universe Special #1, Lord Daniels absence triggers crimes and calamities that consume the lives of those already tangled in his fate. Until he is found, his realms residents must protect its broken borders alone. But the most senior story-tellers are tormented by invasive secrets, Lucien is doubting his own mind, and beyond the gates, something horrific awaits with tooth and talon.

I'm a longtime fan of the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman. Is it continuing a series to start a connected but newer comic? Who knows. This is the first six comics, starting with the Dreaming without Dream, and a librarian who thinks he has lost a book....

I liked the first and second quite a bit, and some of the full page art is really astounding. The story after that felt a bit like it was going in circles. I missed Dream and his siblings!

archaeolibrarianologist @AkashaVampie @ElizaMarie You definitely need to read all of Sandman first to really understand the characters. 4y

archaeolibrarianologist @ElizaMarie it's always a good time to reread Sandman. Don't forget Overture; the artwork is simply stunning. 4y

Pickpick

This is one of the new Sandman Universe spin-offs. This one is set in the world of the Dreaming.

I liked this one especially because it features Lucien, one of my favorites, so much. Matthew, the raven, also appears a lot it this one. I‘m not sure about the ending, but otherwise I enjoyed this story.

I may not have understood all that was going on in this first volume, but I sure as heck enjoyed the ride. Dora is my new favorite. Looking forward to more!
