This book was written from the parents point of view and how hard it was to watch their child struggle. Well written and definitely worth a read.
I wanted to like it, but it didn‘t live up to the promise of its premise. There are a lot of fascinating reasons why someone might not speak to their spouse for six months, but sadly the reasons for that scenario in The Silent Treatment made it seem mundane. I‘m sure there are other readers to whom this book would be better suited, it just wasn‘t for me. Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/the-silent-treatment-abbie-greaves/
After 40 years of marriage Frank goes silent for 6 months.. not one word uttered to his wife. What could have brought him to such a quiet place? This is the story of their marriage and how they got to the point of silence. This was such a good book I‘m lending it to my grandma 🥰❤️
A quiet, beautifully written story about very ordinary people tackling life. A long married couple reflect on their life after Maggie (the wife) collapses and is hospitalised. Part her written story and part hai reflections it was really very moving
This is a emotional and moving story. It's about Frank and Maggie, their marriage and their daughter. Maggie collapses on the kitchen floor and is rushed to hospital. Frank and Maggie hadn't spoken to each other for the last six months. We hear their story and about how they met and their life.
Frank and Maggie have been married for decades but Frank hasn‘t spoken to Maggie in 6 months. When he finds Maggie unconscious in their kitchen, he looks back over the course of their marriage. Maggie‘s side of the story is told through diary entries. This is a sad and desperate look at a marriage gone quiet told in he said she said style.
