And where their mother lives. Retired policemen from Los Angeles, the killers easily persuade the local sheriff to let them lead the search for the missing children. Now there's nowhere left for William and Annie to hide...and no one they can trust. Until they meet Jess Rawlins. Rawlins, an old-school rancher, knows trouble when he sees it. He is only one against four men who will stop at nothing to silence their witnesses. But in this thrilling mystery novel from C.J. Pickpick

I‘ve read many of of Box‘s books in one series but never a stand alone story. It was similar in many ways and yet unique too. I enjoyed the story. As I often say with these they are a bit far fetched but fun and entertaining. They are quick reads with good resolutions.

Finally finished. I was down to the final hours on my hold. Just couldn‘t sink my teeth into this one. I think I‘m going to have to take a break from C.J. Box for a bit.

Started a new audio. This one is going a little slow but I think the narrator might have something to do with that.

tracey38 I've been enjoying audios more and more lately but the narrator can really make or break a book easily. 5y

#bookhaul!
Technically, I didn't need more books.
But I've been working hard and felt like I deserved it. :D
Plus, I traded in some old books for store credit. 🖤

So I am filling in as a moderator for the mystery book discussion group at the library tonight for a sick coworker. I haven‘t read this or anything by this author. Any tips or interesting things I should know about this book before jumping into the discussion? 📖🤷🏻‍♀️

Beckys_Books Sorry, I have nothing for you. But, good luck! 7y

I read Blue Heaven and found it to be a bit different. The way the characters interacted was interesting. The talking with those who had died was unusual in my mind. The story line kept me wondering in this "who done it " story.
