The Last Confession of Autumn Casterly
The Last Confession of Autumn Casterly | Meredith Tate

If I Stay meets One of Us is Lying in this gripping contemporary thriller. When band-geek Ivy and her friends get together, things start with a rousing board game and end with arguments about Star Wars. Her older sister Autumn is a different story. Enigmatic, aloof, and tough as nails, Autumn hasn't had real friends--or trusted anyone--in years. Even Ivy. But Autumn might not be tough enough. After a drug deal gone wrong, Autumn is beaten, bound, and held hostage. Now, trapped between life and death, she leaves her body, seeking help. No one can sense her presence--except her sister. When Autumn doesn't come home, Ivy just knows she's in trouble. Unable to escape the chilling feeling that something isn't right, Ivy follows a string of clues that bring her closer to rescuing her sister... and closer to danger. Autumn needs Ivy to find her before time runs out. But soon, both sisters realize that finding her also means untangling the secrets that lead to the truth--about where they're hiding Autumn, and what Autumn has been hiding.

A decent mystery/thriller! When bad girl Autumn goes missing, can her geeky younger sister Ivy find her? The sisters used to be close, but over the last few years, they drifted apart and now lead very different lives. This book is relevant right now - it breaches the topics of rape culture and bullying and for that, I think it‘s an important book. At its heart though, it‘s about the bonds of sisterhood

There are elements in this book that totally worked for me and a few that fizzled...as in they felt unnecessary to me. They felt like the author was trying to be TOO relevant. Overall, I recommend this book for teens that are high school age, because it deals with mature themes, and parents of teens and basically anyone else with a connection to teens.

Ivy is a band geek and Autumn is the “bad girl”, dealing drugs and getting into trouble. They barely communicate, but when Autumn is kidnapped, Ivy knows something is very wrong and does not give up. This book is a well written thriller with excellent characters, and skillfully explores the bond between the sisters, friendships, and families. The author also examines how girls‘ lives are valued less than those of boys.

Thanks, #BookishFirst!! I won this one and was hooked from the beginning- it‘s a YA thriller about two sisters- Autumn and Ivy. When Autumn is in #Danger, Ivy keeps pressing for answers as she tries to track down the sister who has spent the last 3 years pushing everyone away- it‘s tense, hard to put down and has a great and diverse cast. I loved it- even though very high school-ish books aren‘t always my favorite! #ReallyRandomFebruary

Autumn and Ivy couldn‘t be more different. Autumn, the popular girl, who doesn‘t trust anyone, and is cold-mannered to everyone. While Ivy is part of the “nerd herd” who loves Star Wars and board games. When a drug deal goes wrong and Autumn is beaten and held hostage- she leaves her body seeking help. The only one who can help her is Ivy. This is an advanced YA book. The subject matter is for mature audiences.

The story starts off strong. You can instantly hear the differences between the two sisters pov‘s. Has very strong topics that are very current in today‘s world. I found myself predicting a lot of the twists. Read my full review on http://thebookkeepersblog.com/book-reviews/

This book was really excellent. The writing was superb - very believable coming from the perspectives of two teenage girls. It really gives us a glimpse of what can happen when we don‘t listen to our children when something is wrong and how much it can damage their lives and their futures. The story is dark, but important. Trigger warnings for abuse, sexual abuse/rape, drug use and bullying.

Lovesbooks87 I have my eye on this book. Can‘t wait for it to come out! 4y
Victoriahoperose @Lovesbooks87 it‘s really good. Even better than what I expected. Super hard, but I definitely would say grab it when it comes out! 4y

Ivy and Autumn are sisters. They may live in the same house but they lead entirely separate lives. Ivy is a good kid. She‘s in the marching band and has a group of friends she calls the Nerd Herd. Autumn is her opposite. She‘s a bad girl, a dealer, and a bully. When Autumn goes missing can Ivy find the sister she hardly knows? This book grabbed ahold of me from page one with Autumn‘s distinct and real voice and kept riveted the entire way through.
