As I was staring out my office window into the winter wonderland that had been created outside, I decided to do a blog post for the most recent book I finished, "One Foot in the Grape" by Carlene ONeill. This was a fun and quick book to help me through this awful reading slump I've been in. It follows Penelope aka Penny as she runs a winery and must get to the bottom of who is trying to sabotage a family friends winery.
I decided to go the audio route for this one and I wasnt disappointed at all. Billy does a great job of narrating his book and really creating this raw story of his family and the road to solving crimes. It really is a wonderful story and it made me feel as though Billy is someone you want in your corner at your darkest hour. Def 5 stars for this!
Even when you're trying to watch your weight, count your calories, get 10k steps in in a day. When you're showered and relaxing on the couch.... sometimes nothing beats a glass of your favorite beer. I'm enjoying this without feeling guilty and snuggling up to finish this book. Cheers to the majority of the week being behind us. 🍻🍺
@bookful thank you again!!!!! @MaleficentBookDragon #allhallowsreadswap
Thank you so much @bookful for this awesome #allhallowsreadswap I'm saying over the Bob's burgers stuff. I love that show so much haha. And I cant wait to read these books! Good night goon? How awesome!!!! Thank you again!!!! @MaleficentBookDragon
Ps I had to do two pics because Litsy is so limited on how big our photos can be haha
"I wish I could believe in an afterlife. More than anything. For me, death is not a door or a window. It is the most terrifying thing I can think of. It's the definition of nothing. And no one should assume the right to deliver another into that abyss before their time."
Thats the best damn thing I've hesrd/read in a book in a long time.
Some listen to rap. Others listen to heavy metal. But when I workout, I listen to everything true crime.
Sooo I'm still on the fence about how I feel about this book. It def didnt scare me but I had a hard time focusing on it too. I did like the end of it which I think is what helped me to give it a thumbs up. I finished the show last week and I'm still having nightmares of that. I'd like to hear people's thoughts on the book for sure.
So excited for #allhallowsreadswap!!! Everyones posts has me excited for opening day. Hoping my box comes today so I can open it first thing in the morning!!! @MaleficentBookDragon
Decided to take a walk and listen to an audiobook on this beautiful fall but chilly day. @DeweysReadathon
My #allhallowsreadswap is on it's way to its person today @MaleficentBookDragon thank you so much for putting this together!!! 🎃🎃🎃
Finishing up this book while relaxing in my first lush bath in what feels like a bajillion years. Only thing that sucks about working from home now is that I'm no longer 10 mins from the closest lush store to where I can pop in to get my bath fix. I havent even went and bought my lord of misrule yet for this season!!! #firstworldproblems #lushaddict #bathaficionado
Its 7:30am here in rainy NE Ohio and this mug definitely depicts how it feels outside. My goal today is to finish this book once im done scoring ESL essays. What's everyone else doing on this very very fall saturday.

Does anyone have this problem where they start off really strong in the beginning of the year with their reading goal and then burn out by summer/fall? I have 35 books left to read by the end of the year and guys the struggle is for real right now. Any tips or suggestions are always welcomed. Xoxo
Do you think he wants me to read to him?
Enjoying this late sunday afternoon with a cozy mystery and some pumking beer. Nom nom nom. What's everyone reading on this second day of fall?
Guys! Thanks so much for helping me to reach 30k litfluence. I know I've been a little quiet lately but know I'm still here reading yalls comments and posts! Here's to another 30k and beyond! ✌❤✌❤ #dirtythirty
I took a very looooong hiatus from Litsy swaps but I saw this one and couldnt resist. IM SO EXCITED!!! Thank you to the one and only @MaleficentBookDragon for orchestrating this wonderful swap. #allhallowsreadswap
I def get why this book was so popular for many and not so popular with others. Overall I enjoyed it. No, alot or the kid stuff didnt resonate with me but there were parts that definitely hit close to home. I'd recommend this for anyone who just wants a quick read but is looking for a little inspiration or motivation
What a sad but so sweet story. You follow 6 year old Aoife (ee-fah) as she searches for the truth surrounding the death of her older brother. The adults around her wont tell her what happened and dont give her enough credit when it comes to how smart she is. I flew through this story so I'd you're looking for a good and quick read I do recommend this. There is a religious undertone to it so if you're not into that you've been warned.
This story really intrigued me from start to finish. It really was a heart breaking story showing, even as the writer says in her authors note, how broken our justice system is, but also heartbreaking because it is world crushing to learn the people you love have secrets and are not who you always imagined them to be I really enjoyed this book. Trigger warning for rape
Wow this book is amazing and I couldnt put it down. It definitely was the best mystery/suspense/thriller I have read in a long time. I loved Flynn's character and found dollar bill to be the best bad guy I've come across in a long time. I highly recommend this book and will definitely be visiting more of cavanaghs novels.
I forgot to post this while I was reading, but as usual Karen nailed it on the head
Guys I love Georgia and karen and MFM so needless to say I flew through this book. If you listen to the podcast, alot of the stories in the book are things they have mentioned in passing but they just dive a little deeper. I love that they are advocates for mental health awareness
#hour42 of #24in48readathon is dedicated to this book. I wont finish it tonight but will only have about 100 pages left of it to read tomorrow. And of course I love it!!! Also I made 24 hours WITH time to spare!!! This is, i believe, my 6th readathon however only 2nd time I've made it!! Whoop whoop! @24in48
I read a bunch of reviews on this where people either didnt believe it happened or the story just didnt add up. My oooonly comment I have is that nothing surprises me. If, what is written in this book, is 100% true then my heart breaks for Westover. Religion and the things people do for it just will never cease to amaze me. I listened to the audio and overall enjoyed the book. This is also my third book completed for #24in48 @24in48
Book two down for #24in48. This was a great little cozy mystery that I would recommend for others.
I mainly use Libby for my audiobooks but I do have an extensive audiobook collection tion through audible as well. We tend to re-listen to ready player one all the time (will Wheaton is phenomenal) #24in48 @24in48
Next book up for #24in48 is my last #coffeebeanbookclub of the year 😢 @Mommamanzi please say we are going round 3? I dont want this to ever end. @24in48
I'm slowly chugging along in this ARC. Who all else is/has read this? Thoughts so far?
