Olivia and her family‘s history was so beautiful weaved together to give you just glimpses with what came before as you follow Olivia. The surprises that popped up made me hungry to find more interesting twists and connections.

Finished this story of food & family last week & enjoyed the blending of family recipes & family secrets. Olivia returns to her home, eccentric family & the husband she left in Montana along with two young girls left in her care by their grandmother she's hoping to adopt & protect from their mother due to be released from prison. She finds her own grandmother's family cookbook & begins to cook her way through the secrets her grandmother has kept.

Starting Saturday off with Avocado Toast & cold brew coffee with macadamia nut milk (trying something new as they were out of coconut milk).😉Just a short break with this book that keeps getting bumped for review books before heading out to try & get some holiday shopping done. Hope you are all having a good weekend. 🌺

Max 🐱and I spent a wild Saturday night reading (and dozing) in bed. After raining into the afternoon, it's breezy tonight and cool enough for a light blanket and socks--my favorite kind of reading weather. Max says that it's good sleeping weather--but then again, he thinks any weather is good sleeping weather 😹😴

My finished version of Ruth Reichl's 'Perfect Fall Soup" with kabocha squash & veggies & topped with apple, feta & chives. (Leave off the feta & it's vegan). Recipe link to my #soupersundays post is below ??

Finally starting this one--it's been on my Kindle for ages. Cathy Lamb usually works food into her books, but this one involves an old family cookbook. Love my foodie fiction. ?? Can we have another day added to this weekend?! ??

Leftcoastzen That looks amazing! I would probably try it both ways. 6y

A beautiful story of family, love, and life. The recipe for Olivia's family, is based on a old family cookbook handed down for generation, the ingredients include, secrets, tears, blood, sweat, history, faith, and hope. Cathy Lamb tackles issues such as bullying, drug abuse, mental health issues, Asperger syndrome, she does it with excellent style. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it is a enjoyable layered story that tugs at the heart.
