panThe premise of this book is really good but the execution was lacking. The characters are pretty flat and I never got invested in them. And the conclusion was kinda bizarre and abrupt. I would have bailed but needed to finish for #pop25, a book rated less than 3 stars on GR.

so-soThis has gotten some wide-ranging reviews, but it caught my interest enough in the first few chapters to finish it. Most of the book is quite good, tension is built up as revelations about the school, its staff, & the pupils are slowly revealed, but the conclusion throws it all away for me. After finishing the book, I was left thinking “Really?!“. I would have said it was a solid 3.5 right up until the end, & I have to drop it to an average 3⭐

bailedI really wanted to like this book, but sadly I had to DNF it. I found that I really didn‘t care about the characters or the plot. From the description I thought this would be right up my alley, I love Twin Peaks, but something about this fell flat for me.
