In The Margot Affair, the biggest secret is Margot‘s father, but then there are more secrets, some smaller, yet no less shocking. And in the backdrop, Paris. The characters and the stories they tell are so interesting and nuanced—this is a book that deserves to be reread.
I wasn‘t sure what to expect. I started this and when I got up for a coffee I realized I was on page 101.
Really enjoyed this one and it felt very polished for a debut. It also felt very French 😁 love a good walk round Paris. Sadly only in books at the moment of course.
Thanks Cathy ♥️
Started last night and would like to be reading now but work calls.
Good so far 👍🏻
I was surprised by how how much I loved this. It is lush and vibrant and sophisticated and bracingly intimate. I was even more impressed considering it‘s a debut. 4🌟
Starting this one while sitting in the courtyard watching the storm. Big clap of thunder/lightning just happened! ⛈
Perfect reading weather!
This book came out this week. I was lucky to get an ARC from Edelweiss.
I really enjoyed this. The characters were complex and the point of view is not one I gave seen explored often. How would you feel as a 17 year old who is the secret daughter of a loved politician?
This is a coming of age story, and also a book that explorers the rich connection and challenges of relationships.
Also liked it because I rarely pick up French books.
The Margot Affair is a very nuanced novel for a debut author. This book at times felt more like a memoir than a fictional story. As I was reading this book I grew to love Margot more and more.

Thank you NetGalley and Hogarth for an Advanced Reader‘s Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
#ARC #NetGalley Margot, 17 is the love child of a once famous French actress and a married prominent French politician. Margot has never given much thought to her father‘s other life but a chance encounter with his wife leaves Margot desiring more. Hoping to force her father‘s secret life into the limelight she shares her identity with a reporter. This impulsive act will lead to unforeseen consequences. Excellent story, beautiful writing
I started a new #ARC #NetGalley and I‘m just racing through it!! It‘s really good. Excellent writing and strong believable characters. It‘s giving me White Oleander vibes with a dash of Ladder to the Sky. It‘s also a #Debut #ReadWithMrBook I believe book publishes June
