Mehso-so

I really wanted to like this book, which is a “sequel” to the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The book speculates that Sundance did not die in Bolivia, because he was in prison in Wyoming at the time. Upon release from prison, he heads to New York City to track down the love of his life, Etta, who had suddenly stopped writing to him 2 years prior. ⬇️⬇️

julieclair So far so good. But… once Sundance arrives in NYC, his life becomes a series of outlandish adventures. I felt like I was reading a movie. In fact, the author‘s bio says he is a screenwriter, so perhaps that explains the writing. I found the story a bit hard to follow at times, and definitely too unrealistic for my taste. ⬇️⬇️ (edited) 2y
julieclair I do think this book would make a great movie, which I would enjoy watching. And I really appreciated the numerous historical details that were included about life and events in 1911-1913 New York. The book felt well-researched. 2y
jb72 Yay for another book off the list! Boo that it wasn‘t so good. 2y

julieclair @jb72 Yay indeed! This one made 6 gone and soon to be out of the house. Which of course translates to more room for new books! 😀 2y
jb72 @julieclair Exactly! Out with the bad ones, in with the new ones! 2y

Pickpick

The Sundance Kid really didn‘t die in Bolivia. How could he, he was in prison at the time. Now he‘s released and his sole focus is to try to find his wife Edda, who has disappeared.
