Gatsby is helping me tackle this penultimate present. I might actually finish all the books I‘m giving if this one is a quick read. 😁
Late on a wet winter‘s night, Jack Lily arrived home to find his front door wide open and the antique carpet drenched.

A cozy & nuanced mystery set in Tasmania surrounding the disappearance of glamours Celia, a mysterious painting & how the drug trade can destroy a town. Joelle is a woman who appears to be on the autism spectrum, and when younger survived a horrible childhood to grow up to be a happy wife and mother. She is pulled into the mystery of the woman's disappearance, due to bad luck & a desire to please the people around her.
This is all about me, not the book. It‘s a small village mystery full of miserable people and seedy secrets. Most of the characters are unlikeable and unpleasant, and the storyline for Joelle is just breaking my heart. The writing is very good, but the plot is just not for me. I can see this getting a lot of #LitsyLove.
5/20 #netgalleyreviewathon I won‘t be leaving feedback on NetGalley for this one.
Loved it. Small Town mystery. Big question is: what happened to Celia Lily? I like trying to figure out who did what in a mystery. I figured this one out, right before the reveal.
