The overall story was okay. It took me a bit to get into it but then enjoyed it.

Loved this novel set in Kansas. Mandelbaum‘s writing blows my mind and the characters are touching and tragic. #ARC #Edelweiss

I chose this book bc it‘s at an animal sanctuary. It had a very slow start for me. I expected to read it & be done w/it. But it got to me. Maybe the animal sanctuary & the way the characters related to them made it more familiar to me. In the end, this book was more about feelings & decisions than animals, but that‘s okay. By the time I finished, this turned into one of my faves this year.

I apologize for the break but I am back! 💙 I was a mask maker and had to put the majority of my reading on hold for a few months but I have started making books a priority again not too long ago so here I am!
