Canadian musician Jann Arden is my fave female vocalist. She‘s also a fiercely outspoken animal rights activist, and a funny, self-deprecating straight shooter. I was thrilled that she made a cameo in my birthday video. Check her out on YouTube. This is my November #bookspin and it‘s a memoir of sorts which talks about getting older and the things she‘s learned along the way. Quick read and I certainly saw myself in it. @TheAromaofBooks

I love Jann and everything she writes. I found this book so insightful, and it resonated with me a lot. Like Jann, I have recently become more accepting and forgiving of myself, and I am learning to say no to things, people, and even books that do not bring me joy. 😉
This was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend the audio version read by Jann.
Jann is speaking VOLUMES to me! I love listening to this on my #audiowalks. Tonight's sky was beautiful - such a beautiful night to get a good walk in. Dark clouds, but bright sun. Looked so cool!

#ReadCanada #Alberta 6/13 To tell you how much I‘ve enjoyed that ? audio ?? I've loved this artist ever since I heard "Insensitive" in 1994. I've listened to her music ? a lot and seen her live. Listening to her thoughts on her life, from her crone posture, inspires me for my own path. #Aging, #Accept, #Body, #Family #Addiction, # Failures, # Successes, #Friendships, #SelfLove, #SelfCare, #Serenity #Wisdom
A funny, inspiring memoir about how good it is to get older. I especially recommend listening to Jann Arden narrate the #audiobook edition of her story because she has perfect comedic timing. She speaks of coming out, overcoming alcohol addiction, and the deaths of her parents, all with a positive attitude towards the future. #LGBTQ #CanadianAuthor
For such a long time, I didn‘t think getting older was going to be all that useful, to be honest. The glamour and the joy of youth is pounded into us at every turn, so that we end up dreading the one thing that holds a hell of a lot of power in real life: wisdom.
And yes, it IS possible to bloom extremely late in life. I am blooming as I sit here. I can feel myself blooming. You can never stop blooming, people. It‘s the best part of being a human being.
I think planning the next meal is the centre of every relationship. If you can find another human who wants to eat with you for the rest of your life, you‘re set. I wonder if there‘s an app for that.
