To the rest of the world for the Dumpster Fire, I‘m sorry. We tried. But we will try again and again and again…..it‘s worth the fight.

#embarrassment 😳😔

quietlycuriouskate Please accept my condolences. Unfortunately, they come with a dash of deep anxiety mixed with incredulity: flavour of the day, apparently. 3w

Julsmarshall Just shock here, and sadness that the majority voted for this. We aren‘t giving up, we‘ll keep fighting for what is right. 3w
Amiable This one might have broken me. When Hillary lost in 2016, people said it‘s because she “had baggage” so wasn‘t a good candidate. Then we elected an old white man in 2020. Now it‘s 2024 — and another female candidate with sterling credentials lost. To a demented bigot who has openly advocated fascism. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. It‘s not the economy -- it's the misogyny, stupid. 3w
Prairiegirl_reading I‘ll never understand how this race was even close, nevermind that he was elected overwhelming. Racism, classism, misogyny are quite powerful, I realize, but this is too much. 3w
Branwen Just absolutely devastated today. 😔 3w
Jerdencon Yes to all of this 😞 3w
Cuilin @Amiable 🎯 it‘s the misogyny absolutely 3w
CarolynM Please accept my sympathy. It looks bad from over here, but I‘m sure what you see is much worse. 3w
Leftcoastzen It‘s the worst , some of us really tried ! 3w
Liz_M @Amiable Exactly! 3w
kspenmoll @Amiable Truth. It‘s hard to look beyond my sadness & fear & anger to act but I think I will be ready to do what is needed act with others -if all our rights are not taken away. 3w
marleed I‘m so incredibly sad. We did not beat them in the ballot box but hope our response remains one of dignity and we never lower ourselves to beat our opponents with poles attached to the American flag. When tax-exempt churches are allowed to spew hate and extreme media calls it‘s journalism - I don‘t know where conversation can happen. I believe we can change hearts with Pete Buttigieg style conversation - but where to do that, I don‘t know. 3w
Jeg I still can‘t believe it‘s happened. What now? 3w
CoverToCoverGirl As stated in an earlier comment, Canadian here. When I woke up this morning I felt like I was having an out of body experience and woke up in a parallel universe. Total disbelief here. I really thought Harris would win. Who says no to hope, peace and a better more kind future/world. Gutted says it all. 💙 3w

Pickpick

This touching story captures the friendship between two girls separated by a fence in a racially divided community. Woodson‘s lyrical prose and beautiful illustrations highlight themes of friendship, division, and hope. The narrative encourages readers to think about barriers and the power of connection. It‘s a gentle introduction to discussions on race and community.
