These are the basic stats for all of my reading in 2021. I‘m thrilled with a total of 160 books. This is the first year I listened to more books than I read in print.

Mt. TBR is only books in my possession, whether free, bought, or gifted, before January 1 and read for the first time in 2021. Owned includes books gifted to or bought by me at any time and includes rereads.

thebluestocking Your visuals are great! 💙 Interesting that audio surpassed other forms for you this year. I barely read anything that wasn‘t an audiobook. It‘s odd. Or maybe not. I can do other things while I listen but not while I read. 6mo
Daisey Thank you! I still prefer reading in print, but I have also gotten much better at listening to audio while I do other things. 6mo
BookBabe This is so cool with your charts! 😃 Really impressive reading year! 🙌🏻 6mo
Daisey @BookBabe Thank you! It was a great reading year! 6mo

I always enjoy looking at visual representations of my reading at the end of the year.

The top shows my ratings graph from Goodreads. I don‘t give many 5 star ratings, but there are a good number of 4 star ratings. According to Goodreads, my average this year was 3.4.

The bottom is original publication dates of all books read sorted by month. I‘m surprised by how many new books there are throughout the whole year.

Amiable I‘m with you —I usually average 3.3-3.4 on my ratings. A 5-star rating is rare for me —it has to be a phenomenal book. 6mo
Lcsmcat Did you create the bottom spreadsheet, or is it from Goodreads or StoryGraph? 6mo
Daisey @Lcsmcat I created it. I track the date in my spreadsheet and use conditional formatting for color coding. Then at the end of the year I copy and sort each month to create the bar graph. It went pretty quickly this year since I knew what I was doing. 6mo

Lcsmcat @Daisey I may copy that idea! It‘s fun to see it laid out like that. 6mo
BarbaraBB I love that idea of keeping track of publication dates. 6mo
Daisey @BarbaraBB Goodreads has a graph for publication date, and I thought for a while about a better way to show it because it‘s an aspect I always find interesting. 6mo

I waited until the last moment to choose my #top21of21 in case of last minute additions. I really enjoyed looking back at everything I read this year and arguing with myself about what should make the list. I am now looking forward to what 2022‘s list will look like.

Well-ReadNeck Oooh! Loads that I loved here. Definitely going to add the rest to my TBR, looks like we have similar tastes!!! 6mo
Suet624 Oh, I forgot about The Only Plane in the Sky. So good. 6mo

Although I still have some reading to finish today, it won‘t change this list. I have a hard time with favorites lists as sometimes a book I really enjoy in the moment is also one I forget. Instead I also consider those that are memorable or seem important to read & share. As of this moment, these are those books from my reading this year. The top row were my top rated & the rest are grouped somewhat by type.

Daisey I won‘t keep the shelf long, but for now the list of books can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/2408113?shelf=21of21&sort=date_read&order=... 6mo
merelybookish I read one time the books we often remember are boring ones or ones we didn't like much because we ended up spending the most time with them. But I know what you mean. It's not always the most enjoyable books that endure. 6mo
Daisey @merelybookish I do remember some books I‘ve hated very clearly, but in most cases I feel the books I find memorable while not necessarily enjoyable are the difficult ones that still leave a strong impression because of what they have to say. So, I guess in a way that goes along with your comment, but I also clearly remember some books I love from the first moment as well. 6mo
Cinfhen Wonderful, thoughtful choices!! Thanks for sharing 💜 6mo

Y‘all, I crushed my reading goal this year. I read very little in 2019 and 2020, so I didn‘t have high hopes for a major reading year in 2021. Instead, I started the year slowly and then hit my stride about halfway through the year. I logged back into Litsy and found further encouragement and inspiration. I‘m so grateful for your positivity and great recs- I‘ll never not have a massive TBR list thanks to you all 😂. Here‘s to a wonderful 2022! 😘

Pickpick

As 2021 closes down, have you thought about your top picks for favorite reads? Also, did you happen to meet any bookish goals? There‘s still time! :P #tbr #2021 #goodreads

Why hello! I didn't realize it had been almost a year since I last posted. This last year has been...well you know. Working in healthcare (not frontline but still hard) took a lot out of me this last year & books were my saving grace. I'm hoping w/ the new year to post a little more on here than before. Here is how I ended the year & my goal for this year. I wish everyone a happy and healthy year!

OK, I decided to do the 2021 Reading Challenge. I decided to keep it simple - higher than what I read in 2020, but not as high as I've done in the past.
