#FoodAndLit This was an interesting read and a fascinating look into #Ethiopia 🇪🇹I was really enjoying my quest until author Bob Cornuke, a retired detective and DEVOUT Christian turned somewhat fanatical in his determination to use Christian scriptures to prove his theory that the lost Ark was brought to Ethiopia centuries ago. He does raise some intriguing premises although most Biblical scholars & historians do not agree with him. 👇🏼

Cinfhen I won‘t discredit his theory as I do believe there is some plausibility. A pick with reservations, because there was A LOT and I mean A LOT of repeated rhetoric. Still a fascinating look into Ethiopian culture, history, religious identity and life. 👇🏼 (edited) 3y
Cinfhen As an aside, my friend Dr. Morris Hartstein has worked endlessly and selflessly to help the people of Ethiopia. I‘ve tagged on recent article about his efforts https://www.aish.com/jw/id/Israeli-Eye-Doctor-Treating-Thousands-of-Ethiopians.h... 3y

Butterfinger Wonderful review. 3y
Susanita That‘s cool about your friend. 3y
Cinfhen Thanks @Susanita Morris is seriously one of the nicest, most generous people I‘ve ever met. His wife too. They are an amazing couple. 3y
Texreader Nelson DeMille‘s The Quest is an awesome fiction book on this topic and it‘s my chosen read for this month, if I can find my copy. 3y
Cinfhen Oh, cool...maybe I‘ll look for a copy @Texreader 3y

Just started listening to my #FoodAndLit #Ethiopia read 🎧I‘m hooked!!!! A real life Indiana Jones quest and I‘m a sucker for anything Bible related. My nerdy heart is very happy 😊

Texreader Ok I‘m in too! 3y
Butterfinger I hope you will agree to be our ambassador next month. 3y
Cinfhen Ha!! I love promoting this unique country but the pressure.... I‘ll try my best to share what I can @Butterfinger @Texreader but keep your expectations low 😘😘 3y

Cinfhen I‘m also supposed to be in the States until mid April, so I won‘t be on location so to speak @Butterfinger I have plans to be with my family for a few weeks beginning March 15 🤞🏼🤞🏼 3y
Crazeedi I'm definitely looking for this one!! 3y
Cinfhen I loved the first half @Crazeedi but the author has now gone FULL ON Christian scripture academic/ it‘s a LOT!!! (edited) 3y
Cinfhen I‘m not familiar at all with the New Testament and the Book of Revelations so it‘s not material I‘m “comfortable” with @Crazeedi He does bring up some compelling evidence but it seems most biblical scholars and historians debunk his theories 3y
cathysaid Oh this does sound interesting. I seem to recall some “curses” and superstition surrounding those that come in contact with the ark? Or I could completely be making that up from cultural references. In any case...I‘m intrigued. 3y
Cinfhen @cathysaid you are right!!! There‘s a part in the story where 3 men ( monks) claimed to view the ark and they are found unconscious, there‘s more but spoiler 🤐I enjoyed this book for the most part BUT at some point near the end author became FANATICAL ~ it was A LOT of Jesus Christ Our Lord & Savior over & over & over again 🙄it ruined my enjoyment 3y
cathysaid @Cinfhen That would be annoying. Fascinating from a historical and even religious perspective but save the proselytizing for inspirational self help books. 3y
