Second book int the series. This time they have to thwart a conspiracy that threatens to blow up London.
I liked the character relationships which aren't easy at all. A good read for everyone with a love for Edwardian Fantasy settings.

Book two of this fantasy series set in 1914 London is every bit as good as the previous one. Lily and her “charismatic” friends at The Refuge (they each have unique talents) must rush to save London from a cataclysmic explosion that has been foretold by a seer in the 9th century. In so doing she must learn to hone her ability and discover if there‘s something more that she‘s meant to become. This author‘s writing is so well done especially in 🔻

robinb the area of character development and attention to physical detail. She puts the reader into Lily‘s world, feeling for her as she‘s vulnerable in several ways but able to harness her strength to carry on nonetheless. Relationships are explored and tested, loss is deeply felt and hints are given of what‘s next for this group as war looms ahead. So good. So entertaining. And I can‘t wait to follow along. 4.5/5⭐️ #DoubleSpin For anyone interested 🔻 (edited) 1y
robinb I‘m tagging the initial book in series. And the covers are stunning, imo. ❤️ #coverlove 1y
