Not much else to say about this series that I haven‘t already said, but book 3 is a solid entrance in the series and I‘m looking forward to book 4. 4⭐️

#netgalley #arc continuation from book 1&2 about the Dread Penny society. A group who writes them & solves crime on the side. I love these because we get the main story with the overarcing mystery & 2 other mini mysteries written by members. We have Brogan who investigates Veras father by working at their shop. Light on the romance but lots of intrigue with a satisfying ending but I expect another installment after this for the whole storyline.

Love when the little ones play while I read. Though I‘ve had to go fetch the ball out of the road about 20 times! 😅

4/5

I love this series. This novel focuses on Brogan as he takes on a secret assignment outside the Dread Penny Society to look into the strange behavior of the Russian ambassador, which leads him to take a job at a print shop owned by Mr. Sorokin and his daughter Vera. Like all the entries in the series, there are penny dreadful stories interspersed. I love how the stories mirror elements of the main plot.

This might change a little depending on if I can finish A Chorus Rises, We Have Always Been Here, and Wendy, Darling in the next 2 days, but I think this is close to what my July bookspin will look like.
