A serial killer is stalking through Sydney, hell-bent on recreating scenes from the Fabrica, the 16th-century foundation text of modern European anatomy. The spate of cold, methodical attacks has the city on edge, but the serial killer may not even be the darkest player in this story.Desperate for a breakthrough, decorated homicide detective David Murphy draws into the case his art historian sister, Joanna, and his wife, Sylvia. Unravelling the mystery of who is behind the killings pushes each beyond the limits of what they thought possible. The Tribute is a subversive take on modern masculinity and misogyny told through an irresistible crime narrative. Dark and unpredictable, chilling but sympathetic, it weaves a tapestry of narrative threads towards a mesmerizing climax that will challenge the way you think about everyone you meet. Meticulously researched, hugely ambitious and superbly crafted, The Tribute is the most outstanding crime novel of 2021.

Bk6 of July is done. From a local author, I loved the fact that even though it‘s set in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, I still knew exactly where they were from memory. It has some of the best parts of my city as backdrop which was fabulous. Written well, I started a bit hmm with the detective MC, then ooh I don‘t like him till about third way actively hoping he gets killed. Even so, the ending was still a huge wtf! “While there are certainly male victims of intimate partner violence, we all know that the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are men. Although nearly all anti-DV advocates are women, this is men‘s business fundamentally, because we are the ones responsible…..This epidemic won‘t stop until men stop it. That‘s up to us, not our victims.”

Until we teach our sons it‘s not ok to treat their partners with contempt & violence it will not end.✌️
