Bk1 of August is done! I started this during the #20in4 #readathon but put it down till today. I enjoyed this debut thriller, the plot was very smart but sometimes the writing was a bit meh. I mean, there‘s more adjectives than yell, scream etc! It reminded me a bit of They Never Learn by Layne Fargo but that book had tighter writing & more suspense. Still, not a bad first effort. #BookspinBingo #Pageathon #CloakDaggerChal

TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! 2mo
5feet.of.fury I agree, this one was fun, not super cerebral, but a good time. 2mo

Bk9 of July & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! I was a bit surprised by the ending of this one, from memory of his previous novels it was a bit left field, or am I remembering wrong? I still thoroughly enjoyed it, it was a throw down thriller(quick & no chance of reread)but interesting. The setting was amazing though, I‘d love to visit Vermont! #BookspinBingo #Pageathon #CloakDaggerChal

Bk4 of July & Bk3 of #JubilantJuly #readathon is done. This is the story behind the #metoo movement that started with the set of articles published in the NYTimes. Ronan Farrow & the NewYorker get most of the credit but it was actually these two reporters who first chased down & published Ashley Judd & other victims stories while dealing with Weinstein‘s machinations. Very well written. #BookspinBingo #NonFictionBingo2022 #Pageathon

Maria514626 Ooh. This sounds good. Well not good. There‘s a fascinating story in The New Yorker about how Harvey Weinstein lost control of his criminal trial. Shudder. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/06/06/harvey-weinsteins-last-campaign 2mo
emmaturi I liked it too. Very fascinating how it all went down. It's been made into a movie too. 2mo
SamAnne This was so good. Read it along with Farrow‘s Book. 2mo

I am so ashamed to say this, but Bk1 of July is finally done! It‘s taken me 14 days to actually read a book from start to finish & I‘m frustrated by the huge stack that‘s sitting unfinished. This was a great Icelandic thriller set in Siglufjörõur, a small town on the north coast. Ari Thór accepts his first posting after academy only the quiet town he‘s expecting has the questionable death of a famous author followed by the attack on a nurse. 4⭐️?

RebL No shame. If I weren't stuck on a train for 36 hours with no wifi or cell service earlier this month, it's likely that I wouldn't have finished a book this month start to finish. 3mo
TheSpineView We all have reading slumps. Just remember I page at a time. 3mo
TheAromaofBooks Still great progress!!! Sometimes you just have to readjust goals ❤ 3mo

Bk4 of March is done! Took me awhile to start reading, not the book, just a lot going on right now. But when I did read it, it was worth the effort. I‘d sub categorise it as “space gang adventure!”Captain Niko walked away from the Hive Mind to start a restaurant called Last Chance & took her unit with her. But their station is attacked & they end up kidnapped by space pirates on a bio ship called You Sexy Thing.🚀 #BookspinBingo #SpaceTimeReads👇

Bk3 of March is done. The final(so far) in ACOTAR & my only one of these awful covers & the last in my #Maasathon. This is pure smut mostly. There‘s a lot of story, mostly about Nesta learning not to be a cold bitch & Feyres pregnancy, but let‘s be honest, it‘s all about Nesta & Cassian getting it on everywhere. I‘d hate to live next door! #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #PennyPerPage #FinishingTheSeries #Pageathon #ChunksterChallenge

Bk1 of March & Bk4 of #20in4 #readathon is done! The 2nd & chunkiest I think of the ACOTAR series is also the best. With an amazing cliffhanger ending which had me screaming at the last page the first time I read it. Feyre makes her wishes clear, Tamlin wants his “property” back, fun ensues until Hybern shows it‘s hand. #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #PennyPerPage #Pageathon #ChunksterChallenge #Pantone2022 #KickTheSlump

Bk13 and last of February & Bk3 of #20in4 #readathon is done. The first in the last Maas series for me to read, this is an “adult” retelling of Beauty & The Beast but with Fae & magic. This was actually the very first book of hers I ever read & it got me hooked as my guilty pleasure author. Don‘t knock it till you try it! #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #PennyPerPage #FinishingTheSeries #KickTheSlump #FairytaleReading2022 #Pageathon

Bk12 of February & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! At almost 1,000 pages, the 7th & final TOG book is packed full of action, characters & magic. Bringing Aelin & all her allies into a last cataclysmic battle in Terrasen with a few favourites not surviving😢, it‘s a worthy end to the series. #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #ChunksterChallenge #LitsyAtoZ2022 #PennyPerPage #KickTheSlump #Pageathon #FinishingTheSeries
