Mehso-so

This was a slow read for me. I am passionate about healthy family culture and rootedness at home. So, I appreciated a lot of her thoughts and suggestions. However, some of her metaphors or examples of each subject were extreme, such as an abduction her friend experienced of her own children to discuss how there are so many different things vying for our kids attention. No thanks. I don't like emotional manipulation like that. But some decent info.

Hello!!! Since I was last on a year ago 😱 I had a baby and we moved to Florida from Georgia. I've read a ton of books (well a ton for me as a Mom of 2 haha.) I've also gotten off IG and FB because they are awful. With that...

How do you make Litsy best work for you? How do you not get overwhelmed? What do you do to have it bring you the most joy? Would love all the tips! I sure miss getting on here and interacting with you lovely Littens!

DrexEdit Welcome back! I find you can do a lot on Litsy in just 10-15 minutes once or twice a day. Also I find the hashtags and games I can commit to and stick with those, usually on a monthly basis. Weekly or daily games don't work as well consistently for me. 2y
BennettBookworm Welcome back!! ❤️ 2y
TrishB Hi 👋 comment on books, people or tags you like. Set a limited time to scroll. Don‘t stress, it‘s fun 😁 2y

Deblovestoread Welcome back! There are lots of group/buddy reads across genres if your looking for a book club. Some days I scroll a lot and others not so much. Just pop on when you can. 2y
squirrelbrain Welcome back! This is the only social media I do, so I can‘t comment on how it compares, but I love it! You can do a little or a lot, and you don‘t have to join in with anything you don‘t want to. You can play games and follow hashtags or you can just post about books you‘ve read and like other posts. 2y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Welcome back!! You can comment on posts, join in the photo challenges, Buddy reads, and join in the readathons! 2y
Kayla.Adriena I took a year and halfish hiatus after having a baby/moving/continuing to navigate the pandemic as well! I just told myself I would ease back into it, no pressure. I avoided signing up for anything with deadlines that can be stringent. 2y
SamanthaMarie @DrexEdit Thank you! And thank you for these tips. I think daily or weekly things are a hard commitment for me to make right now so that's good advice. With being on just 10 to 15 minutes at a time do you feel like you see enough? Are you ever worried you miss out on anything?? 2y
SamanthaMarie @BennettBookworm Thank you 😊 🥰 2y
SamanthaMarie @TrishB I probably do put a lot of unnecessary pressure on it 🤣❤ 2y
SamanthaMarie @Kdgordon88 I think I have to remember that Litsy is a lot more calm than other social media haha. Thank you so much!! 2y
SamanthaMarie @squirrelbrain I like this practical approach!! I think on things like IG I used to be worried about missing posts or whatever. But Litsy is more chill I think!! Thank you 😊 2y
SamanthaMarie @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thank you so much!! ♡♡♡ 2y
SamanthaMarie @Kayla.Adriena Ahhh fellow life is wild friend 🤣❤ I think you are right, I need to ease back into things. Though of course the holidays have all the fun everything 😏 ha! Have things settled down for you and all of your big life changes? 2y
DrexEdit @SamanthaMarie not at all. I see a lot of stuff in just a few minutes of scrolling. And the hashtags I follow either have regular, repeating schedules or are very forgiving. I can pop in and out as I have time. 2y
Crazeedi How are you my dear friend? Congrats on you new blessing! 2y
SamanthaMarie @Crazeedi Hello Diane!! It's so good to "see" you. ♡ I am doing well, so much better these last few months. The move to Florida has been really good for us. My husband should deploy a lot less often here, so that will be nice. And the beaches aren't terrible ;) how are you?! I need to get a letter sent your way ♡ 2y
Crazeedi You are blessed, and it's so good to hear things are going so much better. The last couple years have been challenging for sure. Your children are beautiful! Please write, I'll do the same, update me on your life! Sending my love to you❤ 2y
SamanthaMarie @Crazeedi Thank you, thank you! My love right back to you. ♡ 2y
Crazeedi @SamanthaMarie I just had surgery and can't put weight on one leg, so I'm kinda limited right now! So I'm trying to read and write, though I'm going crazy looking at my house!! My hubby is really being good, but he's not a housekeeper, lol 2y
SamanthaMarie @Crazeedi Oh no!! I'm so sorry. Was the surgery successful?? I also get overwhelmed when the house is a mess. The same thing happens whenever I'm "out of commission" for any reason. My husband is a great cook and great with the kids, but a housekeeper he is not ? Just put those books right in front of your face so you can't see anything. ??❤ How long is your recovery time? 2y
Crazeedi @SamanthaMarie long story, I'll tell you all about, long recovery. Thanks for coming back, I'll be writing you soon. Have a wonderful fall. I wish I were in the sun right now, lol 2y
SamanthaMarie @Crazeedi I am really glad to be back! If you ever want to visit these gorgeous beaches, we'd be happy to host you!! ♡♡ I'll try to get a letter off to you this week!! Looking forward to yours. 2y
BethM Welcome back! @Chrissyreadit has some tips and tricks links. Remember - no pressure! 2y
BookNAround What a sweet babycake! You are definitely in a busy stage of life for sure. I say just check in when you can/want to and don‘t worry about what you might miss. No one is taking attendance or holding you to account for anything. People will be happy to see your posts whenever you get to them. 2y
Chrissyreadit Hi!!! I agree with @BookNAround , there‘s no pressure!! Litsy can be whatever you choose- a visit with friends, or a space to post your books and see what else is there. The link in my bio has many of the activities that go on- sometimes I “visit” specific pages or tags. If there‘s an Activity you really want to do just check in under the tag. This is a no pressure space! So glad you‘re back! 2y
Crazeedi Dummy me Samantha! Email me your new address could you? crazeedi73@gmail.com thank you! Want to get a letter to you💗 2y
SamanthaMarie @BethM Thank you! It's good to be back! 2y
SamanthaMarie @BookNAround Thank you ? he's a sweetie. I think I "see" lots of other people post a lot, but I just have to remember everyone is in different seasons of life. I laughed at no attendance taken, that is a good point ? 2y
SamanthaMarie @Chrissyreadit Thank you so much!! I'm really glad to be back. And thank you for your resource!! I know that takes time and effort. I really appreciate it. ❤❤ 2y
Librariana I don't know if I'm necessarily the *right* person to hand out Litsy advice (especially since I'm not on very frequently!), but I like to believe I have good intentions about being a more active member 😌 I like to remind myself that this platform is very low-key and relaxed. I appreciate the advice that's been given ⬆️ about following hashtags or participating in low-pressure activities without deadlines. 2y
Librariana Also, I loved what someone said earlier about no one taking attendance 🤣 and the tips regarding reciprocal interaction and chronology vs. popularity. I like to approach Litsy as a bit of a community board where I'm just sharing with a bunch of friends what I'm up to (i.e. reading, planning to read, books I've picked up, etc.) 2y
