Fiona, 28 was once a network superstar on a family sitcom when she was a young child actor. But her offscreen antics caused her shining star to implode, leaving her off the A list and hiding from public view. Now the network wants her to join the reboot but Fiona has no desire to return to the nest. Audio narration was FANTASTIC & the story was FABULOUS! LOVED THIS ONE 🥰
LOVING this audio 🎧♥️ A recent #AudibleDeal that I picked up!!! Young woman Fiona was once a teen star on a family sitcom until she had a very public breakdown and her shining star combusted 💥Now the network wants a reboot but Fiona wants to keep her past in the past.
I truly was not prepared to love this as much as I did.
Very topical with all that‘s STILL coming out from former teen stars. Fiona, former star of family network sitcom “Birds of California”, has left the biz years ago after a very public Britney-esque breakdown. Then talk of a reboot brings her former co-star Sam back into her life.
Cotugno expertly conveys the fireworks between the MCs, it was delightful. Really hot.
Really endearing.

I‘ve read and enjoyed a couple of Katie Cotugno‘s YA books, so I was excited to read her first adult novel, especially since it has such a beautiful cover! I used this one for my COVER APPEAL bingo square. I really liked reading about Fiona and Sam, who co-starred as teens on the hit tv series, Birds of California. This was the perfect lazy summer read, featuring a sweet, only slightly complicated romance and timely themes. 👍🏻
book 5/22 for 22.
After graduating, I worked at an indie bookstore & had the pleasure of interviewing Katie Cotugno as part of a YA Author‘s Panel. She was wonderful: relatable & sharp. Her personality infuses her writing with these same qualities. I was thrilled to see she was writing an Adult Romance title. It didn‘t disappoint. I devoured this book, about the former child stars of a sort-of Full House/Hannah Montana mash-up, in 24 hours.
TW: sexual abuse, PTSD.
Sometimes you find that romance book that is just a super satisfying read. That‘s this one. Fiona and Sam are just two characters you find yourself rooting for a happy ending. #romantsy #mayreadinglist #springread
Here‘s a romance book I didn‘t hate (and maybe even liked). Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#birds-of-california
Dammit, dammit, dammit. I just KNEW what her trauma was but kept hoping I was wrong. Still, this was an AMAZING story. You can‘t help but root for Fiona and Sam; they‘re likable enough to keep you drawn in and wanting more. Sam is painted kind of like a dumb jock, but he‘s not. Fiona might be a fictional Amanda Bynes. Book #25 in 2022
