Cute story - little lost in weeds for a moment till the pace picked up and gave way to what the reader was suppose to learn. This story is about growth, acceptance, defiance, and making a new normal. 7.5 out of 10, this would make a great cozy read. Good Valentines season book. #gl #queerstories #graphicnovel #fantasy

Hm. The art in this graphic novel is cute, and I liked the overall theme. I kind of wished for more dialogue though. There are pages and pages of just art, and I think it could have been cut down some and conveyed the same message. Meh.

Love the art, would have liked a little more text for context but the vibes are good.

3 ⭐ This is a weird book. I‘m not sure I can really tell you what it‘s about. There are two women who live in a fantastical community where people are reborn as seeds to grow again. The book starts with an older woman passing on, returning to the land, and becoming a seed. That seed is taken out to the water, then comes back in a form of reincarnation. They have shapers and changers which are people with the type of magic that help the community.

LibrarianRyan The librarian though has no magical ability. And this couple will see hardship as they have to separate after something drastic happens at the library. While separated Preet grows a seed into a child, a secret child. The two will eventually come back together and learn from each other and learn that sometimes the old ways are not always best. You have to make new ways in life. As I said this book is weird. It‘s interesting and I think that‘s the 2y

I‘ve been reading graphic novels lately as a way to decompress from school, and they‘ve all matched a theme of love. My first was The Magic Fish, which shows the love between family and a coming out story. Coming Back is about the relationship between Preet and Valissa as they face major changes to their lives and relationship. I loved the art and the story so much, however, sometimes the fantasy elements in the landscape could be hard to follow.

GondorGirl I really enjoyed Witchlight, so I'll have to check this one out. Her art style is absolutely charming. 2y
RosePressedPages @GondorGirl I love her style as well! Witchlight is on my tbr now! 2y

This story is a little odd and dreamlike. But beautiful. There was a sense of loss running throughout the story that seemed beyond the stakes of the story and counter to round, friendly lines of the art. Then reading the author talking about writing it throughout the past few years, that feeling made sense. We have all lost so much.
