Not a bad reading year! Didn't hit my goal of 100 books, but I'm starting to realize that may not be realistic now I'm no longer involved in the curriculum review project. I'm amused at the discrepancy between the longest and shortest book - that's what comes of teaching children's lit! Will be interesting to see if Pratchett is top next year as I continue the Discworld series.
Tagged book was my favorite of the year for its original concept!
There was a lot for me to like in this book: translators, sci-fi, locked-room mystery, and a writer who‘s done good work for the Doctor Who Big Finish audio dramas. It took me a long time to pick up, but once I did, I read it in a day.
August TBR! Taking part in #ARCAugust and the #newreaseathon , so it'll be a lot of 2022 books for me.
Wow! What a fun and inventive read! Set in the future, Lydia works as a translator for the cultural attaché of an alien race. This species, the Logi, communicates telepathically. Lydia is able to translate, though like all such translators, prolonged communication renders her feeling drunk! Part locked-room mystery, part comedy, this is a fun and fast read that took me by surprise! I loved it- and can‘t wait to check out more from this author!
