When their now famous ex-boyfriend asks them to participate in a teen reality show, two eighteen year old girls--one bent on revenge, the other open to rekindling romance--get tangled up in an unexpected twist when they fall for each other instead in Never Ever Getting Back Together by nationally and internationally-bestselling and Indie Next Pick author Sophie Gonzales."Wickedly funny [and] searingly sexy." --Kelly Quindlen, author of She Drives Me Crazy It's been two years since Maya's ex-boyfriend cheated on her, and she still can't escape him: his sister married the crown prince of a minor European country and he captured hearts as her charming younger brother. If the world only knew the real Jordy, the manipulative liar who broke Maya's heart. Skye Kaplan was always cautious with her heart until Jordy said all the right things and earned her trust. Now his face is all over the media and Skye is still wondering why he stopped calling. When Maya and Skye are invited to star on the reality dating show Second-Chance Romance, they're whisked away to a beautiful mansion--along with four more of Jordy's exes-- to compete for his affections while the whole world watches. Skye wonders if she and Jordy can recapture the spark she knows they had, but Maya has other plans: exposing Jordy and getting revenge. As they navigate the competition, Skye and Maya discover that their real happily ever after is nothing they could have scripted.

Genuinely bummed that at a couple chapters in this one is not doing it for me since I just finished this author's previous book, Perfect on Paper, which I loved! I don't think this plot / characters / set-up work or are believable as a YA novel. I'm curious why Gonzales didn't write this as an adult romance.

I thought this was just some cheesy reality show romance. I was very wrong. After Jordy spun the story of his and Maya‘s breakup to make her seem crazy, she has a chance to get back at him via a reality show he‘s on with all of his exes. I would have appreciated more hijinks, but I get that that wasn‘t exactly the vibe of this book. A good read. 4.5⭐️

I think maybe you have to actually be a fan of reality shows to enjoy this? Because all the glowing reviews just loved the pettiness and drama, and I really didn't. And it felt very weird that this was a YA book; none of it quite made sense to me.

There's decent arcs for the main characters and some laughs, but it was disappointing after the author's previous books.

First book of 2023! I'm in love with this entire concept, and Skye and Maya were the most fun. I don't know if it got as deep as it could have, but overall, it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. #yalit #yaromance

This was such a fun and sweet read. I loved the concept of the second chance reality dating show. The descriptions of the dresses and settings were so fun, including the girls interactions with both Jordy and the crew. It was awesome to see how the women supported each other and grew their friendships, but I especially loved Skye and Maya. This was a fun, fast story that I highly recommend.
