Faking with Benefits
Faking with Benefits | Lily Gold (Romance author)

My name is Layla Thompson, and I am undateable. Seriously. Im twenty-eight and Ive never had a boyfriend. And with my thirties rapidly approaching, Im starting to lose patience. Lucky for me, I have three overprotective best friends who are all-too-eager to help hone my dating skills. Theres Zack, the huge rugby player with the cheeky grin and rippling biceps. osh, the boy-next-door with the sculpted jaw and calculating stare. And Luke, the silver-haired divorcee, who also happens to be my old professor. After a bad date leaves me crying on their shoulders, the three men are determined to help me find a guy. Together, they agree to be my practice boyfriends, and come up with a lesson plan packed with fake dates, make out sessions, and classes on flirty texting. In return, I just have to make an appearance on their relationship advice podcast once a week. Easy. But as my lessons become more and more intense, we soon find ourselves getting in too deep. Every stomach-fluttering touch lingers a little too long, and every molten kiss ends in fireworks. Its not long before I realise that their friendship isnt enough for me anymore. I want more. The guys have been teaching me how to get a boyfriend, and now its time I put their lessons to the test. Three times over.

Mehso-so

Well, this was steamier and smuttier than I thought. And a good 150pp too long, or say 2-3 hours too long.

Layla is a successful business woman who has been on 120 first dates. She doesn't seem to be able to interest a man in her. Her friends/neighbours Luke, Zack & Josh, who do a relationship advice podcast, offer to take her out on fake dates to give her advice. There won't be any feelings involved, just dates and 🌶️

julesG All have issues they need to work through. There's a huge third act break-up (when can we get over those?) with a very public and rather lukewarm reconciliation. Some of the triple/quadruple 🌶️ scenes read very porny. I honestly asked myself whether I was getting old and prude?

Also, I am over the dead lover/partner excuse.

wanderinglynn I do love Shane East as a narrator. 1d
julesG @wanderinglynn it was because of him and Will Watt that I got the audiobook. 1d
TrishB I mean I‘m not going to read it- but your review made me laugh 😁 1d

Pickpick

Recently read all 4 of these and really enjoyed them. Are they all some variation of the same plot? Yes. Are they still pretty cute? Also yes. Faking with Benefits was the first one I read, so I think that‘s why I liked it most, but I‘d say these are all worth a read if you like reverse harem romance!

Pickpick

This was one of my many book club reads and it was not only super cute, and funny it was beyond spicy. I loved the characters and the storyline was heartbreaking at times but so worth reading. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
