Perfect for fans of Julia Quinns Bridgerton books, this newRegency-set romance series features heroines of questionable birth, but possessing typically male skillsthe first of which is based on the real-life Boxing Baroness and her imagined romance with an infuriating duke. A new generation of readers will delight in this witty, thought provoking, always entertaining novel by critically acclaimed author Minerva Spencer. Magnetic and educated, Marianne Simpson has the manner of a lady and the looks of a lover, not a fighter. Nonetheless, when St. John Powell, the exquisitely handsome Duke of Staunton, begins turning up at her shows, she finds herself dangerously distracted by the powerful peers mysterious presence. With her safety at stake, Mariannes days in the ring are numbered. But how long can she fight her attraction to the man the ton calls Lord Flawless? St. John Powell doesnt just want Marianne Simpson, he needs her to rescue his brother, who is being held for ransom by a treasonous English baronthe man all of Britain knows as the Rake of Rakes. No matter how little Marianne wants to see her duplicitous ex-lover, the man responsible for the humiliating nickname the Boxing Baroness, St. John must convince her. Even if it means climbing into the ring with the beautiful boxer and taking everything shes got . . . Praise for Minerva Spencers Rebels of the Ton series Brilliantly crafted . . . an irresistible cocktail of smart characterization, sophisticated sensuality, and sharp wit. Hello, Group R!

Here are some options to pick from. If you aren‘t interested in any of them, I can provide other options.

The tagged and Partners won‘t be out until later this month. Rake is kind of a cheat because it‘s 5 novellas and is a little longer (also Jenni might have read it already 😀). I will tag the others below.

Pickpick

First in a new series, this is my first Spencer, and I really enjoyed it. Marianne is a boxer in her uncle‘s (who raised her) traveling Fantastical Female Fayre. She may be tough and fearless, but she also received a lady‘s education. When the Duke of Staunton (“Lord Flawless”) blackmails her into traveling to France to help free his missing brother who is being held for ransom, he goes undercover as her boxing coach. There‘s adventure, 🔻

robinb humor, and attraction (steamier than your average) and also some surprising twists at the end. I loved Marianne as a brave, strong heroine, and the idea of an all-female fair was fun and intriguing. Looking forward to following her equally strong cohorts in further adventures. 4.5/5⭐️ #coverlove 2y
