Timely, thrilling, and gripping from start to finish. An absolute page-turner. --Karen M. McManus, #1 New York Times bestselling author of One of Us Is Lying Jay is living his best life at Karloff Country, one of the worlds most famous resorts. Hes got his family, his crew, and an incredible after-school job at the propertys main theme park. Life isnt so great for the rest of the world, but when people come here to vacation, its to get away from all that. As things outside get worse, trouble starts seeping into Karloff. First, Jays friend Connie and her family disappear in the middle of the night and no one will talk about it. Then the richest and most powerful families start arriving, only... they arent leaving. Unknown to the employees, the resort has been selling shares in an end-of-the-world oasis. The best of the best at the end of days. And in order to deliver the top-notch customer service the wealthy clientele paid for, the employees will be at their total beck and call. Whether they like it or not. Yet Karloff Country didnt count on Jay and his crew--and just how far theyll go to find out the truth and save themselves. But whats more dangerous: the monster you know in your home or the unknown nightmare outside the walls?

An update on my book is that it‘s so juicyyyyyy. The characters have some fun and interesting relationships that keep me interested because I feel entertained when I read the book. The plot is going a little slow but I like that the setting is an amusement park where there‘s a lot to do but also a lot of hidden secrets. I want to find out what happens soon.

People have been RAVING about this book to me, and I get why. The action went from 0-100 in nothing flat, and I appreciated all the conflicting motives and interests for the characters. I wish the ending had been a little more resolved, but I suppose it reflects how life would really be in that situation. #yalit #yadystopia

I don‘t know why but this cover makes me think of skeletons lol. I like this author even though I rarely read #YA, and one of my favorite authors (Tiffany D. Jackson) also writes YA and calls him her twin. I still need to read my #BOTM copy of his “Not So Pure and Simple.” I got a Scholastic copy of this from my daughter‘s book fair.😊
