Choice: The Dragon Heart Legacy, Book 3
Choice: The Dragon Heart Legacy, Book 3 | Nora Roberts
8 posts | 9 read | 3 to read
The conclusion of the epic trilogy from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Awakening and The Becoming. Talamh is a land of green hills, high mountains, deep forests, and seas, where magicks thrive. But portals allow for passage in and out--and ultimately, each must choose their place, and choose between good and evil, war and peace, life and death... Breen Siobhan Kelly grew up in the world of Man and was once unaware of her true nature. Now she is in Talamh, trying to heal after a terrible battle and heartbreaking losses. Her grandfather, the dark god Odran, has been defeated in his attempt to rule over Talamh, and over Breen--for now. With the enemy cast out and the portal sealed, this is a time to rest and to prepare. Breen spreads her wings and realizes a power she's never experienced before. It's also a time for celebrations--of her first Christmas in both Talamh and Ireland, of solstice and weddings and births--and daring to find joy again in the wake of sorrow. She rededicates herself to writing her stories, and when his duties as taoiseach permit, she is together with Keegan, who has trained her as a warrior and whom she has grown to love. It's Keegan who's at her side when the enemy's witches, traitorous and power-mad, appear to her in her sleep, practicing black magick, sacrificing the innocent, and plotting a brutal destruction for Breen. And soon, united with him and with all of Talamh, she will seek out those in desperate need of rescue, and confront the darkness with every weapon she has: her sword, her magicks--and her courage...

I forgot to post this when I finished but this was definitely a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Nothing new or groundbreaking but still fun. I definitely recommend the audio as it was so helpful with the Irish pronunciations. We get to see real growth of the characters throughout the series and especially at the end. I just with the epilogue had shown more of what the aftermath looked like rather than just like two seconds after the mainplot

#BookReport
I feel like I've read a lot but only managed to finish the audiobook I listen to on my commute. With all the Irish spelling this was definitely the perfect choice to listen to rather than eye read because I'd never get the correct pronunciations on my own.

#WeeklyForecast
My goal this week is to get deeper into the Nantucket book. I feel like I've made good progress until I see the actual page number because the type is so small lol.

I may have shed a few tears at the ending of this trilogy, although I would have loved to have seen a wedding or some kids at the epilogue to wrap this up nicely.

Over the last few years her book 3‘s have always felt like a bit of a let down. I was enthralled by one and two- this was good, but not one and two good. It‘s almost like she runs out of steam? Still a pick.

Laughterhp Hmm interesting and good to know. I just started book 1 of this series yesterday. It‘s my first Nora Roberts. 2y
BethM @Laughterhp she has quite a few series I really enjoy. When you read Nora though you pretty much know what you‘re going to get. I‘ll tag the starts of some of my favorites by her👇 2y

Three years ago, for Jolabokaflod my husband bought me the first book in this trilogy. Then two years ago he got me the second one. Then finally, this year he bought the last/final book. It was a great series and I really enjoyed the storyline and character development.

I would absolutely recommend this series to anyone interested in fantasy/fey stories.

📚📖❤Happy Reading!❤📖📚

I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed this magical trilogy and I‘m sad to see it come to end. The world building is phenomenal and I long for this world to be true.
