The synopsis made it sound much more exciting than it actually is. It felt long and kind of slow.

Book 6 read September 2024
Definitely not the best story, unrealistic in many situations with annoying characters, but for me was entertaining🤷🏽♀️Maybe I was in my dark academia mood😂But not a good story so my pick classification is subjective 🤣
I liked how Sarah ended with her mother and so sad what happened with the person who committed the murder 3⭐️This book has low rating so it will be a so-so or pan for many readers.
15 year old with bi-polar disorder (thus unreliable) attends private boarding school and finds herself in the crosshairs of a mean girl. It was painfully slow & nothing much happens until the last 50 pages. Ward had a weird and distracting writing tick...she started sooooo many sentences with 'As'. Like multiple instances per page. Just...no.
80% two dimensional coming of age story, 20% murder thriller. Not for me.
This one is definitely hard to put down!
LOOK WHAT HOLD JUST CAME IN FOR ME! 🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷 When I first heard about this book I thought it was maybe by J.R. Ward's daughter...but in actuality it's just J.R. Ward using a pseudonym! 😂 In any case, my interest was hooked when I heard DARK ACADEMIA in the blurb! 🥰
I‘ve never read a story before with a main character like Sarah Taylor before. I didn‘t know what to expect from the author . I am familiar with her previous work but I have never read her books before. The cover and the blurb drew my interest which is why I preordered it. I connected with Sarah‘s narrative and understood her disorder completely. I think that if Jessica Ward writes another story, I will read it as well.
Greta is so cruel.
I started reading this book and it‘s one of two books that I am currently reading. I put the others on ice for a bit.
