Adorable
The way the author describes the world and the effects they had on the children is so vivid! I loved it
What a wild read. It shows its age with the stereotypes and “not like other girls” comments. But once it veered into a paranormal setting, I was hooked. It's hardly my favorite read of this year, but sometimes I just need a guilty pleasure to keep my brain occupied.
This book is a horror story! Well, not literally...but as a Native American reader, this is a horror story... especially with the current political climate.
The prejudice that Anequs faces is INFURIATING. This is a reimagined world, yet the prejudice echoes from my ancestral history...and now the reality we are all facing today.

What the most haunting reads that gives off a true crime fiction. During the 1900's, a group of Australian schoolgirls from affluent families head off on a coastal field trip to a place called Hanging Rock. Three of the girls go off to explore the caverns and vanish without a trace. What happens next is a deterioration of the community, the staff, and faculty as the mystery is explored. An atmospheric read of speculative fiction
"You're nobody's rainbow. You're nobody's princess. You're nobody's doorway but your own, and the only one who gets to tell you how your story ends is you."
- Seanan McGuire, Every Heart a Doorway
Possibly my most reread book ever.
The tagged book is the first in the series of Murder Most Unladylike. Set at a boarding school where the girls become amateur sleuths until one day there is a real case to solve. It‘s typically English featuring rain, scones and lacrosse! 😂 @BookmarkTavern
