pickI‘m often confused by what constitutes a mystery vs a thriller. Reading this, I‘d call it a mystery since most thrills being past tense. It was a slow yet intriguing unraveling of a concussed twin‘s rediscovery of her life via the bits of information correctly or incorrectly fed to her by her mirror twin. Slow pick, but a pick.
pickI‘m a total sucker for all the elements of this fast-paced thriller— identical twins, memory loss, a cult! It combines all the greatest elements of my favorite Sweet Valley High books into one! Kat wakes up in 1983 with no memory of herself, she does recognize Jude, her mirror twin. But it‘s soon clear that the past Jude reveals may not be the full truth. Multiple perspectives and dual timelines keep this moving quickly from start to finish!

so-soBook 1 of 2024 and I‘m afraid it was not a winner for me. This book had all the aspects that would typically hook me and not let me stop reading and yet I found myself distracted throughout this book. Overall, an ok revenge tale, but not one that will stay with me. 2.5 ⭐️

pickKat wakes up from a coma w/amnesia. The only thing she remembers is her twin, Jude. Jude &her sis escaped from a cult &while she has to relive that trauma, she does what she can to prevent Kat from having to. Jude‘s chapters are told in the past, &as the details come to light, you can see why she wanted to keep it from Kat. However, since we get the present (1983) told from Kat‘s POV, you will also begin to question what is the truth along w/Kat.
