I picked up another dark comedy. This one is about a British female serial killer who is going through a difficult time after the death of her father. Some of her antics include her sitting through a grief therapy group, while a body festers in her home. I am excited to see where this is going and there hasn't been one British dark comedy that I haven't enjoyed. So pleased to have found another author to add to my roster of TBRs.
I really thought I was going to like this book but unfortunately it just fell flat for me. None of the characters were likable, which I don't like in books personally. I just felt like the book lacked substance. It's just super surface level. I just wanted more out of the book, and the ending just was too much fanfair for me, unfortunately. Not everything in this book was bad, I thought the beginning had a strong start, then just flopped. 2.5/5
This is a quirky serial killer thriller. I never thought I‘d write that sentence. It is a fast paced read with some solid twists, as well as being funny. However, the story has a few plot holes. If you can suspend your disbelief it is an entertaining read. 4âï¸
This book is a gem. I don't know what it is about books where the MC is a serial killer, but I love it. I'd say Claire is my favorite to date. Her inner thoughts of annoyance over trivial things cracked me up. I lost count of the number of times I laughed while reading this late into the night.
Claire has been a vigilante serial killer for most of her life. After her father's (natural!) death she joins a grief support group, but not all the members of the group are grieving, nor are they what they seem to be.
This is a layered story and it was interesting to find out how it was all connected and came together in the end, but I found the repetitive writing from Claire's POV rather boring⬇ï¸
