Finished my first #authoramonth today. This month I read the tagged and the book in the picture. While I liked both of them (LaRose more than Shadow Tag), I‘m still not sold on Erdrich. I always seem to like not love her books.

Looks like my plans of reading in bed all day after a tough couple of days is on hold. I‘m going to take in a little retail therapy first. Who is joining me at B&N‘s amazing sale?
I am so sad today. #literati announced that the book subscription service is ending. It really is my favorite subscription service-giving you tons of seriously thought provoking selections each month to choose from. The app was fantastic and included a page tracker for your current read. Oh well. I guess all good things come to and end 😭 The tagged book appears to be my last selection.
Spent some time at Edith Wharton‘s The Mount last weekend. I so wish I was there again today. If you are ever in the Berkshires, it‘s a must. Finishing the tagged today.
Well this is a first. I filled my #botm box. Looking forward to these three. Hope everyone else found something this month.
I have to thank #thatsclassic for getting me to pull out this gorgeous Folio edition for June‘s book pick. Fantastic gothic setting and many memorable (deplorable) characters. Loved it.
Just received my first box from Literati Book Clubs. Looking forward to this one. #literati
This may be the best author talk I‘ve been too. Yaa Gyasi talking with Kazuo Ishiguro for the Bay Area Book Festival. Fantastic.
Happy Independent Bookstore Day! One of my favorite days of the year. Not pictured is the free audiobook from Libro.
Spent a little time with two of my favorite guys this weekend -Sedaris on audio and Gorey in puzzle form.
My peeps were super generous this year with the book gifts. Here is my holiday book haul. The little house is actually a bookstore!
Wow! This is the first time in a long time that I found more than one book that I am excited about. Way to go BOTM. A great start to 2021. #botm
1. The first several chapters of Dracula. The journey to the castle and first introduction are stellar. 2. Only Lovers Left Alive. 3. The tagged book was excellent. #spookysaturday
Here‘s to December 1st and being able to start my new bookish advent calendar.
Clearing my head at my favorite local spot with the tagged book after a couple of tough weeks. Hope everyone is hanging in there.
In a zoom meeting with Jenny Lawson and Samantha Irby! Two fantastically funny people. This is what I needed this week.
My husband surprised me with this amazing vintage Peanuts seance puzzle. Got a little more into my audiobook while putting this one together.
The Philadelphia Free Library is hosting Emily tomorrow night. I just signed up for the free event. Anyone else interested? I haven‘t been able to get my hands on the new book so I‘ll be plugging my ears in places to avoid spoilers!
I joined Jenny Lawson‘s book club and just received my first box. Yes! I can‘t wait to start this book this weekend.
Thanks so much for the great book and many chocolate goodies! Happy jolabokaflod Kerri!

This box was placed in the mail yesterday and should be to you by Monday at the latest. Enjoy!

#BFC week 1 check in. Well, book goal accomplished. I skipped this one when it first came out but with all the great reviews I thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed. I really liked all the different POVs and the discussions of the difficulty of caring for others. Unfortunately, the fitness goals suffered this week with the bad weather and work schedule. I need to make some adjustments for the upcoming week. Here‘s to week 2!
Got my 10,000 steps in and then some and started this interesting audiobook on my first day of the #BFC #bookfitnesschallenge . I‘m already hooked. @wanderinglynn
I just signed up for the #bookfitnesschallenge . Thanks to @wanderinglynn for organizing this one. My book goal is 6 audiobooks (1 a week) and my fitness goal is 10,000 steps a day. Just charged and synced my FitBit and am all ready. Care to join me? Sign up at http://forms.gle/n3ErATLqPYjdYCwUA
Audiobooks and puzzles - happy together. Just finished this one and now on to Great American Novels.
Went for some retail therapy after a terribly hard week. Has anyone else made the trek to Indigo at the Short Hills Mall? I believe their soft opening was last week with a grand opening to come.
Gorey‘s house has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I can finally report that it far exceeds expectations. I stocked up on books, bookmarks, pins, postcards, magnets, puzzles and prints.
Another item off the bucket list. The Providence Athenæum is a must if you find yourself in RI.
Wow. I haven‘t read a comic that grabbed me quicker than this one in awhile. Loved it and will be picking up volume 2 this week. Story: 16 year old gives birth to the King of Hell. What could possibly go wrong?!
Just got home from the #phillymeetup2 What a great group of people! Thanks so much @MicheleinPhilly and @Cinfhen for putting this together.
Abe expressing this displeasure with current politicians.
I just had to pick this one up today. The cover is beautiful. There is an intro by Karen Russell and blurbs on the back by Kelly Link, Claire Vaye Watkins and Samantha Hunt. Sold.
I may have just stolen this amazing Black family tree shawl/scarf from my husband‘s Wizarding World crate. 🖤
My lone book purchase for the week. Can‘t wait to jump into this one.
Just finished this on audio. All I can say at this point is that this is true crime at its best. It will take awhile for me to process everything I just heard. This is a must for true crime readers.
Floor plan for the perfect home.
