This little book is a gem! We‘ve all heard of toxic positivity. We‘ve all been asked, ‘how are you?‘ by someone else—and let‘s be honest, they don‘t really want to know if we‘re collapsing. Sometimes, we need to be real with ourselves and each other. Take off the mask, face the demons, and figure out the next steps. That‘s community. I found this book hilarious and brutally honest. The book cover is also a poster!
This is a short, funny book full of quotes much like the one shown. However, if you read the introduction, you see that there is more to the story.
These feelings are universal, and we use sarcasm and dark humor to get through them.
Bookish birthday gifts from my sister who always knocks the gift-giving out of the park!
What a gem of a book!
I am personally not a fan of positive affirmations. They‘re just not my thing and I find them overly optimistic. Disappointing affirmations are more up my alley so I ended up loving this book.
