This is our book club pick for January.
January‘s bingo board!
#bookspin - Twenty Years Later
#doublespin - A Man Called Ove
Book club - Rock, Paper, Scissors
#chunksterchallenge2022 - Washington
Reading Around The World - Antarctica (not sure which of the two options I‘m going to read yet)
Looking forward to a great reading month to kick off the year!
Here we go! My #bookspin pick is a new release that I‘ve been looking forward to for a LONG time and my #doublespin has been on my TBR for entirely too long! Looking forward to a great reading month! Thank you for hosting, @TheAromaofBooks
One way to move some classics up your TBR list? Write them out on playing cards and have your family randomly pick. Excited about this year‘s choices!
Last year, Roots was one of the cards pulled and it ended up one of my favorites...really hoping for a repeat!
Sneaking in my January #bookspin list at the very last minute!
@TheAromaofBooks I took your note to heart and included mostly titles that have been on my TBR for a LONG time! There‘s also a few library books listed. As always, it‘s a treat to see what you pick! Thank you for hosting!
Ok, so I could only get 20 in the grid...I‘d say the last one would be Grant by Ron Chernow.
Thank you for the tag, @CoverToCoverGirl
I tag @Kelly326 @TheAromaofBooks and @Megabooks
Happy New Year everyone!
#chunksterchallenge2021 Quarter 4 book is complete. I loved this one...The characters will stay with me for a long, long time. I laughed, I cried, I was angry, and I was scared, and I can‘t wait for @Kelly326 to finish so we can watch the movie.
Thank you so much for hosting, @Amiable I can‘t wait to participate in the Chunkster Challenge in 2022!
Here we go...my December #bookspinbingo card! Hoping for at least 1 bingo this month!
#bookspin - Christmas at The Little Beach Street Bakery
#doublespin - The Joy Luck Club
Book Club - Sooley
#chunksterchallenge2021 Q4- Lonesome Dove
I have some work to do to finish out some challenges...we‘ll see how many I can get through! 😬
Thank you for hosting, @TheAromaofBooks @Amiable
I didn‘t read as much as I would have liked, but I hit my Goodreads goal this month and finished another classic, another non-fiction and my #bookspin. Hope to get a bingo in December!
PS...I wonder if Rosemary Wells has ever logged on here and was shocked at how many people have tagged her book? 🤣
@TheAromaofBooks #bookspin #bookspinbingo
PSA: Put this on your TBR. It‘s going to be one of my top three books for me this year and it doesn‘t seem to be getting much buzz. Our book club read it together...and, let‘s just say, there‘s not many books that we all enjoy...and this one was one of the few! Read it. You‘ll love it!
My November #bookspin and #doublespin
I‘m trying to finish out my challenges, so I added “300 pages” of Lonesome Dove, my Q4 #chunksterchallenge2021 , to my list and it was picked!
Looking forward to a great month. As always, thank you for hosting, @TheAromaofBooks 😘
...and, Bingo!! This may be the earliest I‘ve gotten one all year.
So far, my favorite is The Incredible Winston Browne (it‘ll be in my top 3 for 2021.
And I have to say that Survivor Type by Stephen King is the most disturbing short story I‘ve ever read. 😬
Happy Birthday, Sarah!! Thank you so much for hosting #bookspin every month...I love participating. I hope you have a wonderful day!
For the #birthdaybash readathon, I‘m planning on:
Finishing the tagged book on audio (it‘s so good!)
Reading chapters 28-29 in Lonesome Dove
Finishing Survivor Type (a short story)
Putting a dent in Meet Me At The Museum (my #bookspin)
Hope you get some reading in today, too!
A few months ago, I saw Stephen King interviewed on a late night show while he was promoting Billy Summers. The host asked him to name his favorite 5 books...4 were the usual suspects: The Stand, Misery, etc, but one was a short story called Survivor Type, which is included in this collection. I‘m only planning to read that story...for now. 😊#bookspinbingo
#chunksterchallenge2021 check-in: so, technically, today is day 8 of reading. I‘m through Chapter 10 and have read 50% more than I intended this week because I LOVE THIS BOOK! The characters are fantastic and I‘ve laughed out loud several times. Who knew I‘d enjoy a western so much?
I hope you‘re loving it, too, @Kelly326 @Amiable and @CoverToCoverGirl 🤠 📚 🐴
Excited about October and this #bookspinbingo
#bookspin — Meet Me At The Museum
#doublespin — The Talented Mr. Ripley
Book Club — The Incredible Winston Browne
#chunksterchallenge2021 — Lonesome Dove
Classic — Candide
#Bookvoyage — Marching Powder
Buddy Read — Interview With A Vampire
Some fun titles! Thank you for hosting @TheAromaofBooks 📚
Marching Powder: A True Story Of Friendship, Cocaine, and South America‘s Strangest Jail.
With a title like that, how could I not buy it? I‘m using this one for the “South America” prompt in the Reading Around The World Challenge. I love a good travelogue and am dying for an actual adventure, so I‘m excited about this. I hope it lives up to the reviews!
