Loved learning about how Curious George (FiFi) made a long voyage overseas to the US and about his creators 💕

When your daughter brings home a nonfiction book about your favorite childhood fictional book character (Curious George), you must pick it up and read it!! The book is written in stanzas and has the same drawings as the Curious George Books. 😁😁 Eeeek

I honestly don't know what possessed me to read this book, I'm not even sure how I got to it - Nonetheless it was beautifully illustrated & nicely curated using actual documentation, photos, journals & sketches done by Hans and Margret Rey. Born Jewish, living under Nazi occupation in Paris the Rey's risked their life to escape to America while preserving their manuscript of Fifi the monkey 🐒 who was later given a nice American name, George!

Some light reading while at the library with the boys! Great children's book about Margaret & H.A. Ray's escape from wartime in Europe.
