21/23 I‘ve stayed up late finishing this one! I just couldn‘t put it down. I went into it completely cold after picking it up on a whim. I didn‘t realise it had originally been serialized and had no idea that would make it such a compulsive read. This is the last book in the Corfu trilogy and I‘m a little sad to say goodbye to the Durrells. They are quite the family.

Gerry is mostly focusing on his animals and his trips with Theodore. But there‘s also room for Larry and Larry‘s friends that suddenly drop in, Leslie, Margot and their mother. Their mother must be a saint to put up with them all.

Another one down for the epic reread! I forgot how much I love this book. It's so dark and sad and enthralling. It's insane knowing that King wrote this when he was still in high school. *we are not worthy* In other news, I need a new copy of this book! I don't normally like short stories. So I wasn't looking forward to this book. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed it. I must be maturing. Some of the stories had me cringing, which is not something I do easily. I don't know why I'm surprised. It's the King. #epicstephenkingreread #1978 #book5
