A bit late today, but this is my top book for #12BooksOf2023 for #July

A little known book that I have had to add to the database to even post it here. Published in April a moving story set in rural 1970‘s Ireland. Gerry has to take on the family farm following his father‘s death and his brother going to America. I really loved the simplicity but developments for Gerry in this story. Quite emotive.

It needs more publicity.

#12Booksof2023 #July

This is another one I loved but can‘t really recommend to almost anyone. This one is graphic with body horror, sexual content, fetish acts and torture.

Bookzombie I also loved this one. It‘s the first in a trilogy and my only regret is that the other two are not out yet. 4mo
Andrew65 Sounds like a full-on book. 4mo

I finished this one in #July , and I loved it! Another #LiteraryCrew pick, this one had so many Daisy Jones vibes but is in a class of its own. The narrative dives into class and race issues and the struggles a female artist has in a male dominated industry. So good! #12BooksOf2023

Andrew65 This is on my TBR, I just need to get to it. 4mo

I have 1 read left and I think this will be a great way to cap my July reading goal. Let‘s get drunk and save a hot demon. One historical fiction and 6 fantasy books. How fitting. I would recommend everything that I read this month. #july #booktok #fantasy #fantasy #vampires #coffee #magic #barbarians #summerreads

I enjoyed this enough to want to read more by Maggie O‘Farrell. The shifting timeline confused me for a beat and given the very short timespan of the novel I was left wanting more. I did really enjoy the writing though and the narrator was perfectly suited for the story.

The story does have some trigger warnings. The heroine does deal with trauma and it‘s the forefront of this story. I will say this was very difficult to put down. I was totally engrossed in the story and missed my train because I had to know what was going to happen next. This a fun & spicy read. Blue has always been my favorite color 😉#july bday #birthdaybook

#TBRtarot #July @CBee This months pick was right up my alley. Marketed as her first adult novel it was just the kind of fantasy world I love: fierce lady friendships, an is he good or evil love story, strong family bonds with kingdoms, wars and magic! I loved the world building and was hooked! Our FMC Gemma is the only one born without magic and struggles to find her place and her strength in what will be a trilogy! 4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

CBee Yay! Glad it was a good one! 9mo
