My Valentines weekend read.
#austenadaptation
An Austen inspired novel complete with someone locked away. Liked the angle of looking for any contact or knowledge Austen had of people of color during her day. But, though the story was interesting enough to keep me reading, there was a need for more line editing. The story itself kind of went off the rails for a bit, but the resolution pulled it back together.

A bunch of my library holds came in all at once! This had 4 people waiting so I started it last night before bed. I finished it this morning as I was making coffee.
It is a modern take on Pride and Prejudice with sprinkles of Shakespeare references (Happy dance with jazz hands)

We have been out if school for the last 5 school days. One of my students painted me a picture while out on snow days. She knows how I love Jane Austen. ❤️📖❤️#AustenAddiction #AustenAdaptation

Pride and Prejudice and Unicorns! Watch for it!
It's been a minute since I read some Austen...
Admittedly, I have not read all of Austen's novels but of the ones I have, Sense and Sensibility is my favorite. I adore the movie with Emma Thompson but I have to say my favorite Austen screen adaptation is the 95 mini series of Pride and Prejudice. Hello, Colin Firth 💛 Plus that score 🎶

Emma Approved, by the same YouTube folks who brought us the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, is quite possibly my favorite #Austenadaptation. There are so many to chose from, though. This is such a hard challenge. #seasonsreadings2016
