Seasame Street is 50 this year!
‘Oh!' cried Marianne, ‘with what transporting sensations have I formerly seen [Norland‘s dead leaves] fall! How have I delighted, as I walked, to see them driven in showers about me by the wind! What feelings have they, the season, the air altogether inspired! Now there is no one to regard them.‘ ...
‘It is not everyone,‘ said Elinor, ‘who has your passion for dead leaves.‘”

I bought a copy today because I‘ve never actually read it. I‘ve watched the movies and both miniseries of Sense and Sensibility but I feel like I‘m still missing out on bits of the story because I haven‘t read the book yet. Can‘t wait to dig in when I get the book delivered tomorrow. 📖 🤓
An abbreviated version of the classic story, complete with illustrations. It‘s cute, and would be good for people who are concerned about understanding the language or intimidated by the length of the original novel. One change made to the story is its narration by Margaret, the youngest sister. I liked that the back listed all the changes made, some history, and a small bibliography. #deweysoct book 3
Good morning, Cornwall ☀️🌊
“‘ They mean no less to be civil and kind to us now,‘ said Elinor, ‘by these frequent invitations, than by those which we received from them a few weeks ago. The alteration is not in them, if their parties are grown tedious and dull. We must look for the change elsewhere.‘”
• Having a hard time concentrating on reading right now (with baby on the way very soon), so the next best thing is book art!! Thanks to Artfolds, I was able to create this beauty today 📚🍁 I haven't felt well enough today to do much of anything. Happy Labor Day, Litsy family...from this expectant mama who prays today isn't HER Labor Day!! •
Thanks for the tag, @SilversReviews !
1. Of course, I had to tag a Jane Austen! It was the first one that popped into mind.
2. Hmmm...not sure. Probably having a better read on people, and really knowing when someone is truly genuine versus feeding you a line. Speaks to a lot happening IRL for me at the moment. 🤷🏻♀️
4. Errands! And gearing up for vacay next week!
5. You‘re welcome to join the fun! #Friyayintro
For all my Love of Pride & Prejudice; I must say that Sense & Sensibility has one of the best Literary Heroes - Colonel Brandon. Now when I read this Classic I always see him as the perfection that is Alan Rickman from the movie. Colonel Brandon is a quiet unobtrusive man for the most part. However, when you need a Hero he always comes through. 💙💙💙💙💙
Life is complete when hearts meet
August‘s classic pick for our Tequila Mockingbird bookclub is one that I‘ve read countless times and love. Reading it is like hanging out with a good friend.
Hit my 12 hour goal (12 hours and 45 minutes to be exact) for #24in48 and my fourth finish is “Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen... this was my first time re-reading an Austen novel and I am thrilled that it was even better the second time around. Witty, romantic, and atmospheric!
Welcome to Hour 33 of #24in48, which for many of our US readers is roughly the start of Day 2. Quick check-in to see how things are going; we've seen a few people already hit 24 hours (amazing!) and some others with big plans for today. If you're not going to hit 24, that's cool too! Remember, this is all about making time and space for reading. (And don't forget to hop over to 24in48.com to see if you won one of this hour's door prizes.)

This is from a little learners edition of Sense and Sensibility. 😂😂😂
Hey Littens,it‘s been kind of a crappy day.The work being done at my house turned out to have problems and took much longer to resolve , just feeling a little blue , & have had little time for #24B4Monday
But now , I put on some soft yoga music ,looked at the shelf in this photo & remembered I can get back to reading tonight & reading lovely Littens posts .Reading can be a joy & a refuge,I will put away the irritations of the day & relax.🧘♀️
#NeverEver have I been as behind reviewing books as I have been of late between battling slumps, everyday hecticness and poor time management. Hoping to have reviews up of the pictured books (all Picks!) soon.
@Cinfhen @Reviewsbylola @emilyhaldi @Mdargusch
The older I get the more I think that Marianne Dashwood should have let Colonel Brandon love her from the beginning.

I got this as a daily deal from Audible. Rosamund Pike was the perfect narrator. I normally would have found the husband-hunting antics of Elinor and Marianne extremely tedious, but Ms. Austen‘s snark saves the day. Overall, a lovely way to spend the train ride on our way to Chicago.
Recently started with Sense and Sensibility on audio. Rosamund Pike's narration is exquisite.
Much of the past two weeks were crappy, dragging me into a slump, but I'm much better now & hoping to be more productive. Really missed being on Litsy!
#bookmail! S&S is my least favorite Austen, but I saw this #PenguinClassicsDeluxeEdition cover and had to have it. Yes, I have five copies of Persuasion already, but I don‘t have an annotated edition and I love this cover, too. I fear I will have to collect all of the annotated Austens. Dang it. #bookaddict #noshame #wellmaybealittle #cantstopwontstop #austenaddict
Sooo technically it‘s Saturday now, but since I haven‘t been to bed yet I think it still counts 😉
1. Aquarius ♒️
2. Made my monthly budget today for work 🙌🏼
3. Tagged. Not so much “DNF” as “still in the works 2 years later”... haven‘t given up on it just yet!
4. Visit to the pet store to buy the cutest bunny carob Easter eggs 😍 and then watching le sis play netball.
5. @BooksbyBJThompson @PamelaStewart hi there 👋🏼 😊
I‘ve been partway though this book for MONTHS, so I finally got the audio version and started over. That did the trick 🤗 I was surprised by how much this book felt like a first version of Pride and Prejudice, since they were so similar (with a few major differences, of course). But I really liked it, and I‘m glad I finally finished it!
Ok you die hard fans - you know who you are - I‘m going for an afternoon on the telly with Sense & Sensibility.. @batsy @erzascarletbookgasm @merelybookish @LeahBergen @Melissa_J @Centique ... so many of you fans ... I‘ll let you know if I see it through 👍🏻😍
