Admittedly, I have not read all of Austen's novels but of the ones I have, Sense and Sensibility is my favorite. I adore the movie with Emma Thompson but I have to say my favorite Austen screen adaptation is the 95 mini series of Pride and Prejudice. Hello, Colin Firth 💛 Plus that score 🎶

She /was/ still dear to him...honestly, I think she was from the beginning. I think he was intrigued from the day they met but didn't know how to express it. #happybirthdayjaneausten #favoriteausten

I'm a bit of an Austen fanatic...I've read all but one of her original novels, several of her minor works, and every adaptation I can get my hands on. Beth Patillo has some great ones - Mr. Darcy Ruined my Life is her best; Debra White Smith has a whole Austen series that is delightful....but I always go back to Pemberley, anything with Mr. Darcy in it is my favorite! Happy Birthday Jane! #seasonsreadings2016 #favoriteausten

tpixie That line reminds me of the first line in Rebecca!! (edited) 8y
tpixie Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” ( The opening line to Daphne du Maurier's most famous novel, Rebecca is one of the great opening lines in English fiction. In one stroke, du Maurier establishes the voice, the locale, and the dream-like atmosphere of the story.) 8y
