Jo and Amy. I‘m totally fine with this. In addition to Jo‘s spirit of adventure and independence, I also share her temper. And I can definitely be a bit selfish but caring like Amy. https://www.buzzfeed.com/farrahpenn/which-little-women-march-sisters-combination...
Cozy blanket and tea
We‘re having freaky crazy weather for Chicago so I took a long audiobook walk today.
Time for my annual reread. Francie is a kindred spirit. I‘ve felt connected to her since I first read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn over 20 years ago when I was 12. I try to reread it every December. #favoritebook
The limit of the number of times one can read/listen to the Outlander series does not exist. #thelimitdoesnotexist #audible #outlander #audiobook
Clearly I was a sloth today 😂 and I didn‘t even use that time reading. I went to Oktoberfest to celebrate my moms birthday and added to my slothness with heavy german food and beer....but it was a wonderful day 🍻
The things you find while cleaning out the closet in your old bedroom. My sister and I loved these.
It was a treat to listen to Rhys Bowen discuss her newest book and upcoming projects. Can‘t wait to start this one.
Late night reading and whiskey. I‘ve been working too many night shifts in a row and even though I‘m tired I can‘t fall asleep. Hoping the whiskey will help.
When a bookworm moves...and I‘ve already moved over one bookcase with two still to unload
Pulled out my copy, ready for this #buddyread ! Looking forward to rereading my favorite Steinbeck #EoE
1am St. Elsewhere binge. Finally available to stream 🤗 #imtooexcitedtosleep
When the birds outside at 1:30 am are keeping you awake, might as well keep reading. But also what are these birds doing up it‘s like at least 3 hrs too early. I can fall asleep to sirens and street noise but these birds are out of control. #citybirds #latenightreading
Only about 20 pages in and I am very intrigued. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. #currentlyreading #kindle
Everyone‘s talking about Game of Thrones and I‘m over here with my whiskey rewatching Outlander for the 100th time. 😂 #outlander
Caffeine fix needed this Monday morning. Chilly and snow on the ground but at least the sun is out.
Enjoying this look into the young Marilla‘s life so far.
Why yes I will candle 😁 book, snacks and beer - perfection
In general, I don‘t mind winter but I‘m pretty ready for this one to go away.
My six days off went by way too fast 😫 Spending this last precious day lazily. Took a nice long walk as the sun is finally out after days of snow and hiding behind clouds. Now snuggled up with a blanket, tea and book. Should do some cleaning but 🤷🏻♀️ this is much better.
I do love Little Women and I can accept that vague description of me https://www.buzzfeed.com/farrahpenn/tell-us-your-star-sign-and-well-tell-you-whi...
Enjoying this brief heat wave before the cold returns tomorrow. #audiowalking
Happy Birthday, Charles Dickens! A Tale of Two Cities is my favorite Dickens, excluding A Christmas Carol which I put in a different category it being a short story. As a Freshman in HS, it was my first exposure to, other than a Christmas Carol, Dickens and while skeptical at first I could not put the book down by the end and it has remained a favorite since.
🤣 This makes me think of my grandpa and his response if he knew I had waved at the Queen when I was in England and her car passed by while I was standing outside Buckingham palace.
I‘m the type of person who prefers 25 to 85 but this is overkill. This isn‘t Canada, weather, just Chicago you can relax a bit. 🥶❄️😭
I don‘t plan on emerging from this blanket today 🥶 and it is only going to get worse next week. Perfect stay and home and read weather.
My mother had this book on tape playing in the car all the time when I was 11/12. I figured 20 years later it was probably time I read it for myself.
“I was thinking of what I would have been doing at home. Reading, writing, thinking about tidying up but not bothering. (I hope you‘re not feeling sorry for me because I just described my ideal evening.)” Loving Loveday more and more.
Whenever this song comes on I think of my grandma. It was playing in the common room of her nursing home the afternoon she was dying. She was surrounded by family, it was as lovely as dying can get. She took her last breath as The Lonely Goatherd was playing. She enjoyed musicals and I think this would have made her smile and now I smile everytime I hear it. I was lucky enough to have her be with me for 23 yrs. ❤️
“This is why I don‘t like talking to people. I never think of anything interesting to say. I need time to find words, and that‘s hard when people are looking at me. Also, I don‘t like people much. Well, some are okay. But not enough to make it a given.” Only 15 pages in, but odds are strong that I am going to like this character.
I can not stop listening to this soundtrack. 🎶❤️
This was the first episode of the twilight zone I ever watched as a kid and I have loved my trips to the twilight zone since. ❤️ sci-fi New Years twilight zone marathon.
