#spooktober starts with this horror trash novel from 1976
Progress!
Reading work stuff on my lunch break. Second rule: Feelings are facts. Customers make choices based on emotions. All my shoe (and book) purchases are definitely based on emotions.
This book made me hungry. The best part is the science behind why smell is so integral to enjoying food. I give it 4 out of 5 donuts.
I stuck with this book almost to the end despite multiple digressions because there are some good ideas hidden in here, even if it's overly obvious. But I'm in the home stretch and he has gone from letting kids skateboard to ranting about gender equality and the "end of men.". Also the patriarchy is pretty much a good thing and centuries of oppression against women is either biologically justified or completely made up. Ok dude, DNF bro.
Love it when my color schemes match up. I just finished Black Mad Wheel and now onto historical fiction. Donner party + supernatural tinge = sign me up!
Ouch. What metaphorical shark attack led to our current White House catastrophe?
The perfect beach read...if you want to stay out of the water. Although you're more likely to die of a bee sting or elephant attack than a shark attack.
This book is so easy to get lost in 👍

#hellowhoareyou Thanks @Nazgul93
Whew, am I learning a thing or two about mammals. I just spent an hour and a half learning about mammary glands. Turns out a lot of what distinguishes us from reptiles and birds are our reproductive systems. Informative or TMI?
With Charlotte, anything can be a pillow. This book is ok so far, appropriately gory, but the writing is a little freshman writing workshop
#dogsoflitsy
Reinvigorating my writing with this book. The exercises are fun and useful and Le Guin was one of the greats.
I need very much to say that I went to see Hamilton last night in Seattle and it was EVERYTHING
This has been my reading material as of late. The PNW sure is a magnet for serial killers. Any other true crime lovers out there? What are your favorites?
This audiobook is nuts! You were right @Sweettartlaura Can't wait to discuss it!
Gotta love old timey Puritan names. This was a real person!
Fishing is life! Literally! Surprising commonalities between a mythic horror novel and a bleak dystopia. Read on!

When I wasn't looking, this happened! Thank you to all my Litsy friends and fanatics for this amazing community!
Should have known better than to read a book with the word "dog" in the title. A man and his dog try to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. So many feelings ? #dogsoflitsy
Time to talk about 2017! Horror through the eons! Guess what book I read every year? Click to read my blog on it. https://respekt1111.com/2017/12/19/2017-in-review-horror-through-the-eons/
How about this? I've been listening to The Fisherman on audiobook and I just started Audrey's Door yesterday for a buddy read only to realize the authors have the same last name. Mind. Blown.
I have the honor to be Your Obedient Servant (to clarify: I'm the servant and it's Aggie's dinnertime) #dogsoflitsy
This book is unexpected and quite entertaining. A world where ghosts haunt more than houses and graveyards, and are often more pleasant than the living, except for their penchant to make you puke every time one passes through you. Hysterical, historical fantasy, set in the second half of the 19th century and featuring Sarah Winchester as a haunted woman with a passion for architecture 😉
A quick, nasty read about demon possession. I have a weakness for demons because it actually scares me. Thanks @Sweettartlaura for the author recommendation! Which of Ahlborn's novels are your favorite?
"L Do You Know Gods of Death Love Apples?" My favorite illustration so far
Man, this book was bonkers in all the right ways! If you like inventive, gruesome deaths and small southern towns, this is your jam! Read my review here:

McCammon's artwork has a thing for creepy eyes! Read my review for The Wolf's Hour here:

I didn't know this book existed, although I've read almost all of the stories on it. Here's a link to the forward by an author who also writes about characters who have their own perception of reality!

Already nearly 200 pages into this, which I am told by @Nazgul93 is one of the best in the underwhelming pantheon of werewolf fiction.
Finally kicking off scary October reads with this gory gem!
I mostly just wanted to post this picture to show off my new book light. It has DOGS on it!
A memory palace is a place you build in your mind to help you remember lists, numbers, the US presidents or, in my case, all the books I read this year! It works!
Never get lost again! Haha, yeah right. This book has some fascinating tips for observing nature to help orient yourself in the world. I can't wait for my next hike!
Will I finish in time for book club tomorrow night?😱 Also sunglasses for no reason at all
After reading Lab Girl I wanted to know more about the world around me. Living and hiking in the PNW I have an opportunity to immerse myself in an amazing ecosystem and I want to be more mindful of the life around me.
Hanging out at the tire shop thanks to forest road driving and maybe backing into my retaining wall😕 Thanks @AWahle for the entertainment!
Finally finished this book, and my sister got me this awesome shirt. I mean, the greatest shirt ever!
