pickSearching for adventure and for a place not yet spoilt by tourists, narrator Richard and some other backpackers strand on an unknown island off the coast from #Thailand. Other people are already living there, all in search of their own Utopia. Things go smoothly for a while but then Lord of the Flies meets Lost and things start falling apart. Fun read, nothing special.

eeclayton I saw (and enjoyed) the film a few years ago; I didn't know it was based on a book though 4y

squirrelbrain I read this a loooong time ago, probably when it first came out, and I felt pretty much the same as you. Good, but not great and rather over-hyped. 4y
