Easing into #Eastercrime with this book that isn't really crime (I think), but a mystery and a lot of puzzles. It's also one of my #ReadYourKindle picks for April.

julesG This is also on my Kindle. 8h
Leniverse @julesG It was a 99p deal in November or December 😂 7h

Whether or not you celebrate Easter, you can join in the Norwegian tradition of #Eastercrime
Over the next two weeks, read a crime novel (true crime counts), or anything with a mystery. Bonus for reading outdoors. Watch an Agatha Christie re-run, or a new crime show. Play a board game (bonus if it's Cluedo or other sleuthing game) or do a trivia quiz or a jigsaw puzzle. Go for a walk, then eat all the best foods and treats. Tag me in your reads!

Avanders Love this 3d
Librarybelle That‘s so cool! 3d
Caroline2 Oh yay! This sounds fab, gonna check my tbr and pull out some crime choices. 👍 1d

Pickpick

I might have been on a tiny little murder spree these past weeks, thanks to #EasterCrime. @Leniverse

My latest adventure took me to Regency London where Sebastian St. Cyr was on the hunt for the person who murdered a bishop. A case that revealed secrets that had been buried for decades.

#SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65

TheSpineView As long as the murder spree is just fiction it works. You know it is a good week when you don't have to hide a body.🤣🤣🤣 12mo

Inspired by a real murder case.
A man who had it coming.
Two female suspects.
A supporting cast of bawds, bigots, and shocked relatives.
I found the first half a bit dull, (because you know what's coming and just get on with it already and what a shame the local Reverend didn't bite the dust too) but it then had twists and turns and a solid, if drawn out, ending.

BarbaraBB Great review. I am about to finish this one too. 12mo

The Thin Man | Dashiell Hammett

Pickpick

Minimalist prose with snappy dialogue and ever so many cocktails. The Thin Man is narrated from Nick's POV, so it is in some ways different to the movie, but every bit as much fun. Return of the Thin Man is literally the movie scripts for film 2&3, so it doesn't read as well. The notes on the text were interesting though.

Leftcoastzen Yay! 2y
dabbe Love both of these! Have you seen the movies? They're incredible, too! 😊 2y
Leniverse @dabbe I have a box set of all the movies and have watched them multiple times. 😃 2y
SamAnne I can‘t watch those movies without driniking cocktails at the same time. 2y
Leniverse @SamAnne I know! 😂 The censor board wasn't all wrong when they thought the drinking in the movies was a bad influence. 🍸 2y

More fun on the telly.

Good prose, ridiculously contrived murder(s), and everybody's awful including Morse. And some parts really haven't aged very well.

#EasterCrime

rabbitprincess Yeah, Book Morse is rather unpleasant. I don‘t mind Morse the show, but I LOVE Endeavour 😍 2y
